I'm seriously thinking about getting rid on one card, it seems even BF 1 runs better with 1 card!

Anyone think I should wait and see if it gets better?

I had enough of SLI to last a lifetime with my 780s. You're at the mercy of the devs as to whether it's supported or not (despite the hype about DX12 doing away with all of this), and game-ready drivers sadly don't guarantee it's supported. It's nice when it works, but I happily went back down to a single GPU this gen.

I was tempted by a single TXP. But 99% of my games run just fine with SLI and a good chunk faster than a single TXP.

Something must be wrong with your system to be getting worse FPS with a single card. Mine at a solid 100hz 130% resolution on bf1 all maxed out at 3440x1440.

Up to you, a single card is less hassle but i dont mind SLI. Had SLI since 770's and has served me well.

Agreed. When it works, SLI is fine but be prepared not to play the latest titles until months after launch, other issues with general display etc.

More hassle than its worth nowadays for the gains to be had.

As an alternative suggestion.

Sell both, recoup most of their value. Get a single GTX 1070 until GTX 1080 Ti launches early next year. Save money now and end up with better card in a few months.

Am doing this myself. The 1080 Was only ever a stop gap until the Ti. Rumors say it might even be GTX 2XXX Series early next year. Value of 1080 will plummet when this happens..

I get more usage if I put the res scale up, but I'm not getting solid 144 at 2560x1440 so I don't bother

You say that but with the way the pound is going and how nvidia likes to tweak the price up each gen, the 2080 is likely to be £800 :p

Sell a 1080 for a 1070 for a 1080 ti ?

Then lose on the 1070 anyway? lol

Then buy a 1080 ti then lose on that again when the 2080 or 2070 hits...

Its madness!

Just buy what you can afford and just game with it at the time.

I went 980ti- 1070 then 1080

Finally have a 1080 and love it...

People worry too much about high end gaming...either way there will always be something new coming and always you will lose money

Its the nature of the beast.
