Oregon "Armed protest" at US wildlife building

You can see even from that aerial footage that he first puts his hand up, then down in to his jacket, before he is shot.

I don't think that's clear at all. To me it looks like he has his hands up, before clutching his side (maybe as if he'd been wounded there) and then collapsing.

Whatever though, my point was that Trayvon Martin was beating the crap out of George Zimmerman when he got shot, yet this was consider a civil rights outrage and result in a malicious prosecution from the authorities. Why no such outrage with this incident?

Which officer was the shooter??

I hope it wasn't the one to the left of the picture coming out of the woods:eek:!

 How can you tell the difference between clutching and reaching into his pocket?

If you're running away from the police and you get out your car and are faced with two armed police pointing their guns at you then you'd be pretty stupid to do anything other than what they ask, especially in America...

It looks like e is going for a gun as far as i am concerned at that point in time. Did they recover a gun from him? He deserved all that he got.

Deffo the cop from the woods that shot him too...

It is possible that the camera angle might have distorted the perspective, but it really looks as if it was the woods guy who took the shot, he did so with at least four of his collogues immediately down range and in his line of fire!

Because Trayvon Martin was an unarmed teenager while LaVoy Finicum was an armed gun nut who resisted arrest?

I think there was one recovered from his inside coat pocket, where according to the officerrs his hand was moving towards.

Given what the idiots had stated, that the police knew they were all armed and the actions of the guy it's not a surprise he got shot.

I wouldn't be too surprised if there was other video footage as well.

The only surprise is that the rest of the guys in the van didn't get shot, although the amount of preparation the FBI etc had obviously made probably came into that, as according to one report I was reading earlier they used flash bangs before getting the rest of the people out of the van.

Wannabe frontiersmen got owned. Feds mopped the floor with the ones who tried to use firearms, and the rest surrendered as quickly as possible.

:D

wanna give me a quick synopsis of what happened?

They were surrounded by FBI agents and suddenly decided they didn't have what it takes to be bold, brave, independent cowboys after all:

The armed occupiers of a wildlife refuge in Oregon say they will turn themselves in on Thursday morning, hours after Cliven Bundy -- the father of protest leader Ammon Bundy -- was arrested by federal agents.

(Source).

Just a few hours earlier, they had said they were willing to die for their cause. I guess not.

:D

I don't know which is worse - the person comparing himself to "BraveHeart" or the Youtube commenter who thinks the film is a true story.

And if they fought back that would make them what? I would be grateful that they saw sense and avoided a bloodbath, they have already made there point and got a ton of media attention. If you want to know what happens when this kind of stuff gets out of hand read up of what happened in Waco back in 1992.

And if they fought back that would make them what?

It would make them dead very quickly. :D

These wannabe domestic terrorists are pretty weak sauce. They talk a big game, but at the end of the day they just roll over when the cops show up. Gutless hypocrites.

WTF?????

http://www.oregonlive.com/oregon-standoff/2016/10/oregon_standoff_verdicts_annou.html

A federal jury on Thursday found Ammon Bundy, his brother Ryan Bundy and five co-defendants not guilty of conspiring to prevent federal employees from doing their jobs through intimidation, threat or force during the 41-day occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.

The Bundy brothers and occupiers Jeff Banta and David Fry also were found not guilty of having guns in a federal facility. Kenneth Medenbach was found not guilty of stealing government property, and a hung jury was declared on Ryan Bundy's charge of theft of FBI surveillance cameras.

then US Marshalls arrested one of the defence attorneys ????

The coda to the stunning verdict, undoubtedly a significant blow to federal prosecutors, was when Ammon Bundy's lawyer Marcus Mumford argued that his client, dressed in a gray suit and white dress shirt, should be allowed to walk out of the court, a free man.

U.S. District Judge Anna J. Brown told him that there was a U.S. Marshal's hold on him from a pending federal indictment in Nevada.
Oregon Standoff defendant Jeff Banta is relieved by acquittals

"If there's a detainer, show me,'' Mumford stood, arguing before the judge.

Suddenly, a group of about six U.S. Marshals surrounded Mumford at his defense table and grabbed on to him.

"What are you doing?'' Mumford yelled, as he struggled and was taken down to the floor.

As deputy marshals yelled, "Stop resisting,'' the judge demanded, "Everybody out of the courtroom now!''

Sounds like the perfect start to a new TV series.
