is windows 10 worth £100?

As above can find it much less than £100 - unless you have a use for the Windows Store/UWP or DX12 stuff I wouldn't be in a hurry to upgrade personally.

You can find it much cheaper if you look around. Code sides for example sometimes sell it for as low as £10.

Do not pay 100 for it, you can get it for much much less and no it won't be an illegitimate code, and if it is you can get a refund from the retailer. There are many.

i have windows 7 on this pc, but i am buying a new pc, and i was thinking of having windows 10 installed on that, leaving 7 on this current pc.

i assume i would have to install my copy of windows 7 on the new pc, then upgrade (if i can)?

if not, i'll buy it somewhere.

amazon uk say £85, while ebay are saying £30 for bootable usb?

According to some articles, you can activate Windows 10 using a Windows 7 key.

This is a legitimate website and thankfully you're not allowed to talk about illegal copies of software.
£10 code - no, this will be illegal. You cannot buy Windows 10 for £10 despite what at least one person has said and another has hinted at.
You've got a couple of choices with Windows 10 - Home or Pro, OEM or Retail.
Home Vs Pro - Home for 99% of users. Unless you're in a corporate environment the extra features of Pro really aren't required.
OEM or Retail? OEM is linked to the computer you install it on and it cannot be transferred, Retail will last the life of the OS and you can move it from computer to computer.
As you will find both OEM and retail at around £85 then the choice is a bit of a no-brainer.
You will NOT find Windows 10 legitimately for much less than this price. No if's, no but's. Get to below £70 and you are definitely looking at non-legit copies, MSN keys etc.

If you want Windows 10 and want it legitimately then buy it, pay around £85. If you're not bothered about a legitimate license pirate it yourself - don't pay anyone £10 - £50 to do it for you.

Sorry - but BS.
Just because somebody says it is legitimate doesn't make it so. Just because you can get a refund, does not make it legitimate. Just because it activates does not make it legitimate.
This concept of "if it works it must be legitimate" is just complete and utter rubbish.
You cannot get a legitimate Windows 10 key for anything south of £70 - £75. Really, you don't need to start pointing me to links on Ebay or even market place sellers at the rainforest. These are not legitimate.

You cannot find a piece of software that Microsoft retail out at £85 and only pay £30 and expect to have a legitimate copy.
As I said in the post before - don't care about legal then great, pirate away. If you're happy giving someone £20 - £30 to sell you a non-legit copy then fill your boots but don't pretend what you've got is even anything like legitimate.

^^ £70 is still quite a bit less than £100 - which was more along the lines of what I was talking about rather than the obviously dodgy £10 keys heh. I still wouldn't pay anything for Windows 10 though unless I really really needed it for DX12 gaming or something and had no other choice.
