Given his recent fights I figured he just want to cream the £££ and Parker seems like a dangerous fight for not much money, well Bellew would be a bigger draw surely?

That's the thing, he's not been making much cash from his recent fights. As I've said before, Haye's been in a tricky situation since his return. In the same way you're saying Parker's a dangerous fight, imagine what the reaction is when Haye tries to make a fight. He's got no title and without a big TV station, he's can't offer a big pay day either - who's taking that fight?

Bellew is the only fight Haye can make easily which pays well but it's a one off. If Haye can get a world title then the big fights and Sky/Boxnation will be lining up. And as above, Haye's hinted that the Bellew fight could happen before a world title fight anyway.

Is he ready though? He's been out for a while and he's no spring chicken, not to mention he's had injuries to deal with. I reckon it'll either be a payday fight next or some more easier fights to keep trodding along.

Isn't he due to fight that loudmouth guy soon? Let's go champ!

As you say, he's no spring chicken so the longer it is before he gets a big fight the harder it will be for him. Haye didn't come back to fight bums on Dave, he wants the big money fights - it makes no sense for him not to take them, he may as well not made his comeback.

As for Shannon Briggs, see my post above. He supposedly won't take the fight unless it's on PPV and nobody is putting that fight on PPV. It's understandable for most fighters not to fight Haye unless they get paid well but somebody like Briggs even more so. At his age he's only got 1 big fight in him so it's lunacy for him to take a beating off Haye for anything other than big money.

Haye is talking absolute BS as usual, please stop buying all the crap he spouts. Shannon Briggs has said over and over again he will fight anywhere. I also saw the interview of Haye recently saying Briggs wasn't interested in fighting if it wasn't PPV, this seemed very unlike Briggs and a few minutes of searching I found Briggs' response.

Haye is a very quick, dangerous, talented fighter for sure, but he's also a liar and a fraud. Bellew was spot on, he is trying to con a big pay day out of the public. He comes back on to the scene and fights part time taxi drivers, and then suddenly he's after a world title shot/huge pay day. Lets get this straight, Haye is dodging any opponent that poses any risk, he is terrified of his world title shot going up in smoke. That's not to say that he doesn't have the talent or skill to win a world title, he does, but he needs to earn his shot. He fooled us all in the build up to the Klitchko fight but he can't keep fooling us, the guys an embarrassment.

You really think Briggs wanted the fight regardless? Come on. Ignore what both are saying and use some common sense. Briggs is washed up and has spent all his time chasing Wlad around trying to get that final pay day. It never materialised so he's ended up chasing Haye. Briggs knows he's only got 1 chance to get paid so he's not going to fight Haye for £100k on Dave. It's common sense.

As for Haye in general. What do you really expect? Obviously he's not going to come out and admit he's fought bums but again, it doesn't take much figuring out why he's in these fights. Without Sky or Boxnation how is he meant to afford to attract the bigger fighters and why would he fight them?

Every fighter is balancing risk and reward. Ideally they all want to get paid well for low risk fights. In the same way Briggs won't fight Haye without getting paid big money, Haye's not going to risk his chances at a world title/massive pay day, fighting better opponents than he's fought if it means he's not going to get paid as all the Dave money is going to his opponent.

As old and washed up as Briggs may be, he's tough, durable, and he's no coward. The guy is very down to earth and genuine, one reason why he's liked by so many boxing fans, he gives respect where it's due. Now the only source we have telling us that Briggs didn't take the fight 'due to the money', is David Haye. Briggs meanwhile is saying the total opposite. If Briggs was just after a big pay day, then why has he been chasing David Haye of all heavyweights knowing he's been fighting on Dave?!? It's because he knows he's a coward.

Go back and look at David Hayes heavyweight career, and tell me what exactly has he done? He won his title from a giant that could barely move. If he fought 2 or 3 genuine half decent heavyweights he'd be exposed very quickly and he knows this which is why he'd rather just skip all that and take a loss for the big pay day. I've got no qualms with fighters weighing up the risk and reward in a fight but they need to earn their shot. Imo Haye hasn't done anything whatsoever to deserve a world title shot yet.

So you're saying he went after Haye because he knew Haye wouldn't take the fight?

Everything about Briggs is an act to increase his profile so he gets paid. IFL tv filmed a meeting between him and Hearn and the big word from both was hype and how to sell fights. Briggs is here to get paid, it's as simple as that. He failed to get Wlad so he's targetted the highest profile fighter he could.

Whether Haye deserves a world title shot is a completely different debate. But as I said, all fighters want the easiest fights for the biggest return and no matter what the fans want, you can't really blame them. We'd all do the same.

edit: Hopefully there will be some news on Haye's next opponent soon. According to Hearn, when asked whether Haye Joshua was a possibility for December, he's got a deal with Boxnation now so hopefully it will be a bit better than his last fights.

I would say that's a good fight for AJ. A step up in quality but AJ should out box and overpower Molina. If he doesn't it will knock his career back years so the pressure is definitely on.

Also, as above, it will be great to see and compare to Wilder's fight.

Dangerous fight for AJ, Molina's no mug and can bang. Will be a good fight to compare him against Wilder who took 9 rounds to take him out.

Not sure it's even worth comparing what Wilder did when Arreola knocked him out in the 1st round a few years back. Improved a bit since then but still should be someone AJ is dispatching fairly comfortably.

Interesting that the WBA have announced that AJ v Klitschko can be sanctioned for the Super WBA title. Hopefully will happen.

Browne v Briggs for the regular WBA title though

Molina's a nobody, a journeyman, sub-gatekeeper level. Don't get too excited about this one.

I still have my doubts about a AJ - Klitschko fight ever happening, but would be good if it does next year.

Good to see a women's fight on the card. Katie Taylor has a big enough name and following (and has the talent) that she could be the first female pro from the British isles to really make waves in the pro game.

Browne vs Briggs

Browne has already been stripped of the belt once so maybe second time lucky.

The mandatory challenger is then the 43 year Fres Oquendo. So if Briggs wins their combined age will be 87 years. Could that be a new record for a championship bout? :D

The hell has Oquendo done to get in that spot?! The guy was **** 10 years ago - remember a 'peak' Oquendo losing to an ancient Holyfield.
