Woah woah woah, is the lens OK? :p

Cracked the little window where the distance meter is (I did this too on my 35L once) and a grain of sand got into the barrel but it still auto focuses fine but I can tell there is 1 grain of sand if i try to manual focus and you can hear it.

What lens is it? :(

It'll probably end up being a great one like a 24-105 or something :(

@Clov!s Nah it was a different seller :p

Sigma 50A.

Will send it off to repair, luckily I have a Canon 50/1.4.

It happened BEFORE I did this so can't blame this lol. (it's actually smart...i think, as all the electronic are off the sand, lens has filter on so only thing on/in the sand is the lens hood and the strap.

p.s. the original 24-105L mk1 isn't that great...relatively, it is the "kit lens" of the L glass, one of the worse actually in everything from design, aperture size, sharpness. It has IS which and the focal length makes it great for video but there are much better lenses for photos.

Did you scooch it into the sand and then... Take a picture of it? :p

I was flat on my stomach, had to put one camera down to use the other one....in the moment I thought...how do I stop more sand getting on the camera and did that.

Then I paused and got my phone out and took a photo of it. :D

So... You put a camera down like that, so that you could get another camera out, and you took a picture of the camera you put down to get another camera out, with another camera on your phone. Fairy snuff. :D

The other camera had a 135mm attached to it, it wouldn't focus something 1ft away...hence the phone. :)

I didn't move back away and use the 135mm because i was flat on my stomach and it was 4:30pm so the light was fading fast, had a 15mins trek up a cliff side in the dark wasn't appealing so the fastest way was to use the phone.

There is logic in the madness somewhere.

Nah you're just one level above noob. :p

I'm a noob.
You're noob +1.
Ray is pro until he has to focus on something. Sort of 'pro-noob' if you will. :D

I just completely suck with motivation but that's not limited to photography :o I've actually got one of my photos as my desktop wallpaper now because I'm somewhat happy with it :p
