What on Earth have they done?

Forget Brexit? This is totally because of Brexit!!!! They said so. This new shape bar is for the UK market only in order to avoid them having to put the cost of the bar up which they don't need to do for the rest of Europe.

Personally i think they have judge it wrong and should have just put the price up.

A spokeswoman for Mondelez acknowledged that the foreign exchange rate was currently "not favourable", but added: "This change wasn't done as a result of Brexit."

As long as the weight of the bar is the same they can play with the shape all they like.

Christmas isn't what it used to be

No Snow
No Only Fools and Horses

and now this!

Hell, even my mum now uses custard instead of yukky blamanche in her trifles. Give me disgusting trifle with tinned fruit cocktail and blamanche!!!!!!!!! It's traditional

Roll on boxing day (hang on, no turkey curry!!). I give up, just get rid of it.

Still, can't complain too much...at least we've got mel and kims christmas song

Well they said its because of the exchange rate and its UK bars only not the rest of the world.

Most sane people blame the exchange rate on Brexit. Clearly by them saying its not Brexit they dont think the exchange has anything to do with it. Why is it UK only then?

Clearly i think the opposite.

its not though, they have reduce the 400g bar to 360g

Correct. And their spokesperson on Radio 4 this morning said it was either do that or not have it on the shelves in the UK.

The presenter even asked if that was a threat!!!!

What the hell was wrong with putting the price up 10%?

Because there are no £1.10 shops :p

I think I'd prefer a smaller package than something that looks so anaemic. If their goal was to save 10% on the weight, I don't think too many people would have noticed 10% smaller packaging.

How will the weight be the same if they are taking out 1 triangle for every 2 ? The only way they could maintain the weight is by either making the base a lot thicker or extending the length. Considering that they are doing this to save money I'd hazard a guess the weight will go down otherwise what's the point as they won't be saving any material costs whatsoever.
