There are only a few scant details about this incident yesterday, so this isn't about speculating on those, just a question in general.

It's been reported that police were called out to a property as a woman was being assaulted. There is no mention in the news report that it was reported the man had a firearm (Not that means he didn't have or it wasn't reported to the Police, it's too vague atm to know.)

So it just surprised me that the armed response unit was sent out *if* it was just reported as an assault in progress

Would there have had to have been a firearm reported, or any other weapon, knife, baseball bat....what is the threshold for armed Police to be sent out nowadays?

I think more and more armed police are around these days due to the heightened terror threats so maybe the officers who attended just happened to be armed?

I did hear it was an armed response unit that was sent.

We aren't routinely arming general police yet, thank god

I can only hope that the guy was white lest we have to deal with idiots lying on motorways because "black lives matter".

"A spokeswoman for Bedfordshire Police said the man, who was described as white and British, was initially treated at the scene by officers and paramedics."

Thank god for that. Maybe we should do a "white lives matter" campaign to see what those busybody SJWs say?

erm obviously this guy was dangerous or posed danger to police hence the shooting.

if it was a black guy with a history of violent crime then the police would be racist aye.

SJW's can suck a pickle :o

it could also have been an address known to the police, maybe occupants already have a history of violence or convictions for using weapons, their computer systems must flag this sort of thing

That's a very sad stance to take.

Or you could just do what most rational people do and ignore them. 'BLM' does more harm than good. The sooner people realise that the better.

Was thinking this it might be an area or address known for crimes involving weapons.
