Is Sir David Attenborough an Actor?? Help us decide!

We need to enjoy him while hes still here, at 90 years old he doesn't have many years left. Will be a very sad day when he leaves us.

I would avoid any contact with these colleagues - just in case their stupidity rubs off! :p

No, he's a presenter and narrator.

that, quite simply is the answer. just keep repeating that to them every time they speak now - even if totally unrelated.
eg one of these colleagues asks 'hey dirtybeatfreak, fancy going for a pint after work'
your reply....

they will eventually get the message ;)

Indeed, I remember watching him as a child with my grandfather. He's a true legend and it'll be an incredibly sad day when he's gone.

Haha brilliant, I may just have to do that :D

I've seen him do some acting (e.g. that dinosaur programme that was on Sky a couple of years back) but it's not how I would normally describe him.

...Director-General of the BBC...

He was never DG, he became Director of Programming, the thought of becoming DG when it was suggested to him appalled him so much he quit Auntie completely and and paved the way for him invest his time in his odyssey, epic and masterpiece Life on Earth

The man truly has to be one of the singularly most important natural scientists on Earth, I know people from many countries who hold him in as high esteem as we do. Rather morbidly when he goes I honestly believe it should be a state funeral and his remains must be interned in either Westminster or St. Paul's but being the humble man he is he will ensure it's small and private.

I've only been lucky enough to meet him once and I was like a tongue tied giggly child and in complete and utter awe of his aura.

Yep, I've thought about this a lot recently. I'm going to be gutted when he goes, absolutely gutted. He really is a national treasure. He's one of the few 'celebrities' I think you can be forgiven for getting all celebrity starry eyed/giddy about... Not like the talentless dross that usually smears ours media. His life commitment to all his projects and studies. His contribution to benefit the world really is extraordinary.

I'm not ashamed to be labelled as gushing over Attenborough. He's up there for me as a legend.

I was only thinking yesterday about the 'collections' I've had of artists/actors etc over the decades and by a country mile I have spent the most on all his documentaries. One box set cost me £169 a few years ago.

Money well spent.

Sir Dave is the only 'celebrity' I truly care about. My GF laughed at me because I had watery eyes when watching his 90th birthday thing on BBC a few months ago.
