Any history buffs ? Why are Nazi worst in history

I dont know why this came to my mind but I was watching a TV program with Nazi in it and started wondering why are Nazi are considered to be the worst in history, Im mean over time we have see loads of psychos and dictators even now.

was it because
WW2 was closer to home ?
We fought the Nazi ?
The way they they did things ?

from a quick google search if its wrong please correct me.
Nazi killed 17 million people
Soviets Killed 23 million
Mao Zedong Killed 45 million
US killed 20-30 million (I was shocked with this one but not surprised)
Israel not confirmed
Osama bin ladin & Co 5,000 - 10,000
Saddam Hussein & Co 200,000
Leopold II of Belgium 2-15 million
British 30-60 million

I know I should have asked more questions in history class.


Please dont take this the wrong way I'm just asking I'm not justifying what some freak and his army did.

Go back and look at the Roman Empire's record of killing per capita. Yet going to a fancy dress party as a Legionnaire is perfectly fine, but go as soldier of the Wehrmacht and you'll be lucky to get out alive and not be arrested.

I was trying to keep it within the last 100 years or so, otherwise it would not be as relevant.
 
Nazi's mostly killed outside of their country.
Built whole new styles of murder, very short space of time, very efficient.
Many of the others killed within their own borders, their own 'people'.

Certainly took more of the rest of the world to stop the Nazi progress.
Of the rest who remain, most fell asunder.
 
Go look up the gas chambers and POW camps.

Then there's the slave labour etc, they were nuts and devised ruthless methods of wiping out millions quickly and efficiently.

They didn't **** about.

The rest of the world barely cared about Nazis and their anti-jew programs, if we were so incensed, it would have ended in 1933.

Or at least 1938, when the order to kill them was made official.

Minus the gas chambers you've just described soviet Russia. They just used firing squads instead...

shockingly - it was not the germans which invented the gas van for mobile killing , it was the NKVD in 1930 - yup those wholesome soviets:

It's not the whole history only resent history and why not compare it ?

Because its still within living memory of people we know and interact with on a daily basis.

Bet you any money go to china they'd have the reverse opinion we do about nazi's versus japanese. (Interestingly the japanese are still kinda bitter about getting nuked, and see the kamikaze pilots as heroes, despite one statistic i heard if the war had ended ~14 days later than it did both nuclear blast deathtolls would have been paid for in chinese blood, then japanese blood as a land invasion of japan would have pitched bittered gi's with flamethrowers and machine guns against men women and children with anything they could find)


I tend to feel sorry for the germans, carrying around this stigma in europe even to this day, i'm firmly of the opinion that the nazi train only got traction because of what the "good guys" (ie us supposedly) imposed on the german people after ww1.

when your starving and having to run from work to the shop with a wheelbarrowful of money to buy bread before the price rises beyond what you can afford, then suddenly a man comes along with clear ideas, a plan, i'll make america germany great again, its those damn muslims mexicans jews swanning around with all their cash, immagrants stealing our jobs.

And suddenly there are works programs, employment, a new currency and you can actually afford to buy things, sure the fuhrers ideals might be a little off but my stamp book for a new volkswagen is half full and i heard the secret police took johan down the street away for being a revolutionary.

The next thing you know theres a war on, they want to kill us all, we must fight to protect our land but we're great now, they stomped us last time but we starved for it they deserve everything they get, and we could win this, EIN REICH, EIN VOLK, EIN FUHRER!


The best thing america ever did was pour money into rebuilding europe, and especially germany, after the war, sure they mainly did it as anti communist propaganda but look at germany now, doubt we'll see the like from them again.
