I'm bored of being single now but i know if i got with a woman now she'd do my head in and i'd go back to being single pretty quick!

I've been single long enough now i have forgot what it feels like to be in a committed relationship. I miss the affection, having someone to always talk to but beyond that, i could stay single as that's how i like it. :)

You won't knock it when you lose that freedom!

What's your plan for changing it?

Do you have a To Do list?

Go to uni, train to be a physiotherapist, qualify a class 1 HGV driver to pay to live and then move to Australia.

So far after 3 years of trying (redoing GCSEs, taking redundancy to go to college full time to qualify for uni) I have an interview at uni.... I have my class 2 so halfway there but now I need a job as I have until at least September to earn money. I quit a job to do driving work on the recommendation of several agencies to be told I couldn't do it any more so left me jobless. I must have signed up to 10 agencies and applied and applied for loads of jobs - here's to hoping at least 1 comes up. Every thing I have done has had problems which have thrown me down a different path to get back to the end goal.

Unfortunately this is the case for 99% of people. Think it was Lennon that said that 'Life is happening while you're making other plans', or something like that. This really never stops. In 10 years time the chances are probably 99% that you'll be doing something completely different anyway

Why don't you focus JUST on the truck driving for the time being. I might be wrong but isn't that on the skills shortage list for Canada/NZ/Australia?

My take on that was he wants to be a physiotherapist in Australia and he is using his truck driving class to get him in the country/give him money to immigrate.

Hats off to you buddy, you may not be moving a long at the pace you want but you've got a solid plan and you're doing everything you can to get there. Hope it all works out for you. The hard work always pays off in the end.

Physio is on the list for Australia and Canada but failing that I stay in the UK. I don't want to be a truck driver for the rest of my life as I want more from life and to help people. HGV driving is a respectable job but it is not what I am aiming for. HGV driving is not on the list for any of them.

I've already been advised that I need to get a job in Australia working on the job immigration as that is much easier to get. But then what if that falls through?

Things are progressing but in a different way. I didn't count on being run over last year when cycling and neither did I bank on getting nowhere after college and being turned down by all unis. My backup plan never happened and so I went back to square 1 with it and investigated the alternative (occupational therapist) but it reinforced the fact I want to be a physiotherapist.

That's all good, just bear in mind that there appears to be only three areas (or states) in Australia where there's a skills shortage for physios.

Either way, it's good that you at least know what it is you want to do. That's a start.

Cheers, this is on a wing and a prayer but failing everything i'll become a physio in the UK hopefully. It's a rocky road but fingers crossed for anything....

I think that's the main reason why i have stayed single, i have had plenty of opportunities to be in a relationship but now i do what i want, whenever i want and it's nice knowing i only have to care about myself.

Thoughts? :)

Thank you. Hopefully I'm not as crazy as I feel sometimes. :) I need to have a plan for things. I need to aim big and hope I am good enough. I left a guaranteed job for life in one way or another to do this so my conviction can't be questioned, however my sanity often is lol

Number 2 on the wheels Tom

Also man up about driving it in the snow. I drove mine on AD08R last winter just after some snow, I'm still driving it with general cold/wet/ice on AD08R with double the power.

I'm still alive... So far

Thought you worked in an office? Not a mobile beautician?

Myself and Frozennova actually have our own hair salon now... :p

I think 2 as well, I was surprised that the goldy colour looks OK cos it rarely works well on wheels!

I have been injecting a little more confidence into my driving, went out for a drive in the rain earlier, wet leaves about etc. Back stepped out at junctions a couple of times, but it was easy to get it pointing straight again! I did do a little skid on a roundabout too which was fun... Should stop that...
