It's shallow too, a mere 6 miles. This could be bad, very bad.

Magnitude is higher than 2011 - but tsunamis are caused partly by the pattern of sea floor displacement. If not much vertical displacement it may be a relatively small tsunami. I hope it is.

Yeah indeed normal wave breaks when it hits the shore, tsunami has a lot more water behind it doing the same thing.

A 60cm one. There is still a 1-3m wave warning in place though.
