Magnitude 7.3 quake has just hit Japan...

Hmm. NHK reporting that the water cooling system has stopped working at one of the Fukushima Nuclear plants. I don't like the sound of that. 90cm reported at one of the observation points but I can't tell where.

Oh dear Fukushima has a reactor coolant system failure

Hmmn Like last time.

Tsunami hits Nuclear power station and severely damages it, nobody dies! #Theworldisending

Tsunami hits coastal cities and kills 20,000 people #Meh!wewillrebuild

Am I really the only person who finds this sort of response bizarre???

People get twitchy when it comes to nuclear stuff going critical. Radiation, fallout, that kinda thing.

And yet you could live out the rest of your life in the Fukushima power stations plant managers office and still be more likely to be killed by the next earthquake. Which could happen at any time, than you would be by any amount of radiation exposure.!

The logic of the "Exclusion zone" should also render all parts of the Japanese coast within 20M of sea level as unfit for human habitation. But that would never happen would it??
