Is there anywhere I can look up minimum temperatures as a customer in a bar/restaurant? I know I can choose not to be there. The temperatures are nearing freezing because the heating is broken (been broken for about 6 months).

I did try to google it but only got safe working temperatures and not as a customer.

Thanks

I think the relevant legislation will be the "Factory Acts".

I haven't Googled it, But my recollection is that the minimum temp for employees is pretty chilly (55F ??)

Again, I haven't Googled it, but I don't think it apples to customers.

So Tough Titty! Be more Northern! :p

"I am in an uncomfortable situation as a result of my own choices. Who can I complain to about it?"

Brilliant :D

I work in a big office with mainly women and a few nesh men and Health & Safety (who sit to myright) just told them yesterday to put coats on if they are cold.
I have my fan on most of the day.

Many Stokies don't even have roofs on their homes, so you are used to the cold :)

For sedentary working conditions, the legal minimum is 16C.

For more physical work e.g. factories, then 13C is the minimum.

I just wish there was also a legal maximum. 27C+ in the office in summer time is no fun :(

Actually minimum temperature is 5C
And there is no maximum

The 13-16C degree minimum is merely recommended by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE)

Surely you can put a jumper on?

Lets talk about sexist air conditioning :P

Why should the heaters been turned on for women?

Women can put on a coat/jumper
Men cant take of their skin

I bet you're dead posh and have a roof and some walls.
I reckon you've got an inside toilet and a bath.

It has been said that Computers did more for improving working conditions than any amount of activism.

(Computers need clean air and reasonable temperatures!)

Why are Server rooms bloody freezing?
