I was going to keep the phone naked but with the camera lens scraping across my desk whenever I move/pick it up I can't do that to the phone! Might go with the official carbon case, shame there are no other carbon shell cases.
Also, 3 hours screen on time and only 30% battery used.

Totally agreed the Pixel is silly money. I don't know what Google were thinking with regards to pricing on that phone.
It makes the OnePlus 3 even more of a no brainer. Gone are the days where there's a massive difference between mid range phones and flagships. People are voting with their pockets which can only be a good thing for the smartphone market.

I think I'm not going to bother opening mine. It won't ever support EE WiFi Calling and I doubt it will ever support Three Super-Voice either.
The Google Pixel supports VoLTE and WiFi Calling on EE and I'll pay the extra for that.

The Pixel I think is an excellent phone. Better than the S7 which is a similar price.

I think you're seeing two conflicting interests, Google wants to get high sales numbers and a decent profit margin, a lot of us want it at a more reasonable price as it doesn't feel like the very top end of the market in anything besides price.
There's a flipside to that..The OnePlus 3 is also OnePlus's fastest and best selling device.
Given the option of paying £439 as opposed to £819 for a near identically performing device save for the camera and AI you would be daft or like to fritter your money away to choose the Pixel over the OnePlus 3.
Again if you prefer stock Android over Touchwiz that's all well and good. However the S7 brings waterproofing to the table which the Pixel doesn't have and a SD card slot.
Lastly it can be bought for around £589 from retailers or even lower if you shop around which is substantially less than the Pixel.

No it's not. The s7 is still one of the finest handsets out. Especially for the price.

just picked one up last week as an upgrade from my ageing s4 and i must say having a fingerprint scanner and type c is a blessing in its own
Received my OP3T 128GB a few days ago and loving it so far. HOWEVER I'm having all sorts of issues when trying to connect it to my Win10 64bit PC to copy music across.
I've installed the One Plus drivers but windows keeps telling me the device malfunctioned. Can someone please advise on how to resolve this.
My previous phone (Nexus 6P) never had these issues.

That's a mixture of normal apps, WhatsApp, games - all on WiFi. I've been Hammering the phone since yesterday, it lost 4% battery overnight.
Are there official sales figures, can you link?
Not questioning what you're saying, just curious to see what they are, as while I agree its a nice device I didn't expect decent sales.
Wondering past the o2 store on Tottenham Court road today and thought I'd stick my head in to see if they had any. Ending up walking out with one on the refresh contract (only way I could get it, will ring and pay it off tomorrow or Monday). Haven't had a chance to test anything I care about yet (battery life mostly) but it does seem like a nice handset. Build quality and feel etc seem good. Doesn't feel as nice in the hand as a regular s7 in my opinion but I'm hoping the battery life is better, and the ability to dash charge, which I usually weigh fairly heavily into phone decisions. Will see how I get on tanning it today and tomorrow.
Coming from a Nexus 6p to this phone and after having it for 3 days I have no major complaints, really liking it and glad I made the change.

The S7 stutter is just unacceptable. The phone just feels slow at times.
That's not really a 'flipside', that's an 'also'. They can both be selling well and it still counters your point that Google have made a mistake pricing it as they have.

I believe there are figures somewhere saying it's their best selling phone ever, but I don't have a link for that, no, sorry.
How's that not a flipside? Even though the Google Pixel has sold remarkably well there's quite a lot of people who think it is expensive for what it is.
The mid range market has grown significantly for those not wanting to buy high end devices and pay through the nose for it. Secondly people's ability to spend money changes as life goes on. Their ability to buy high end products reduces as the cost of living increases and they look elsewhere. There's plenty of people complaining on forums complaining that the Pixel devices are expensive and they are looking to buy or have bought elsewhere.
Hell even you were complaining that the delay in getting hold of a Pixel device would cost you money on your YouTube review which no doubt would offset the cost in buying the handset in the first place which I might add no one really has the luxury to be your position in the first place.
