It's been a while since I've been out in Brum, can a private hire car get to Broad Street for pickup about 2am? Round the Pitcher & Piano sort of area by the bridge. Cheers.

Why don't you phone a taxi rank and find out? :p

Really don't understand threads like this...

Well first off you made no mention of Cheltenham, and secondly, I'm sure they would know... If they don't, nobody here will! :p

Failing that, use a Birmingham taxi?

It's a simple question, if you don't know the answer then go whore your post count with drivel in motors like you usually do.

Acme you've really added nothing to this thread.

OP I think you should be fine, I seem to remember a lot of cars around still at that time when I was last out in Birmingham a few years ago.

Yes, I used to work right around the corner. There is a taxi rank right there. (There is small road off it to a couple of underground private car parks)

Btw, I believe they are still doing some work down the road from there so there are diversion right by the Library.

Cheers. The last time I was there I seem to recall a lot of ambulances and police cars. :D

Thanks. I did think as much but I know some city centre's have started to close down main roads to taxi's etc only, I know Gloucester does down Eastgate Street.

Worst case is you get to a road parallel to Broad St south of it, you just walk over the road.

There is a taxi rank outside Lloyd's bar, you can queue up there and a black cab will take you.

Since doing the road works the amount of cars going down Broad St has been reduced.

Not many ambulances and police cars up there now but plenty of homeless people, they are harmless :)

I'm booking private hire and I know black cabs can get funny with them pulling up around the ranks etc,

We are watching RHCP at Genting then going to P&P and maybe Reflex for beers after. Hotels were £200+ for something that's not a hell hole, private hire booking was £90 between 3 of us.

I usually stay at Jury's Inn on Broad St and never pay any more than £80. The rooms usually have two double beds too so ideal if there's a group of you sharing a room.

Where I mention, plenty of cars stop there to pick up friends or family after work. The "dead end" has a taxi rank on one side, other cars generally park and wait on the other side.

It's been fully booked for some time, I'd imagine due to the gig. We only knew we could all go a few weeks ago and on Booking.com the cheapest was north of £200 for somewhere decent. £30 each for a taxi home is a lot cheaper.

Cheers, I'll bear it in mind.

Apologies, bad day. Was just being difficult. :(

Genuinely didn't realise RHCP were still together. Hope its a good gig. :)

Blimey -- Broad street - Last time I was up there you could drive both ways and modern car was a Triumph Herald - Gas street was derelict.

Here you go, any of the red arrow places should be okay. The nearest is by the taxi rank but opposite the road on the other side is just as close really. Beware though Brindleyplace is technically private property, it won't be traffic warden to ask the car to be moved, but Brindleyplace security teams on site, they patrol the area 24 hrs a day.
