Picked up something new MK2

I see these all the time in Switzerland (well, I've seen 7/8 of them over the year). They look awesome, and it's the only car I can think of that looks like the concept designs these manufacturers put out.

That's Lovely!

I'll be interested in what you think about it. I had a long chat with a guy behind me in a car wash queue who had one of the first ones released, and he absolutely loves it. His is all black though, and, I have seen one of the ones with the orange highlights and happen to think it's the best looking one so far. That blue is still awesome though.

Lashout has/had one as a long termer and struggled with the practicality of the doors.

Still got it Joe, several thousand miles in now. No major faults thus far. Only real gripes are a somewhat stunted range (45-litre tank and a busy triple), intermittent feeble braking power (regen/temperature related) and the odd bit of grief with the doors.

Very interesting piece of machinery. Still not really sure what to make of it; part of me just keeps thinking that I'd rather save £20k and have a 911 - far better to drive.

Cool choice, though, without a doubt! :D

Lovely car, definitely a future classic. Congrats Dr, well done :)

 100mpg less then Official

and there me thinking ford rating 41mpg for my focus ST and me only being able to get around 20mpg was bad..

That's ridiculous if true. In fact that's probably lawsuit material.

How? It's the NEDC test, and they're the only figures manufacturers are allowed to present. Everyone knows they'll not return that sort of economy, and for what it is, 35mpg is really rather good.

I wouldn't say 35mpg for a car that has a 1500cc 3 cylinder 228bhp engine and a electric motor is good at all

As doesn't just a cheap 225bhp golf GTI get 35mpg without a very expensive electric motor & battery's and all that electric computer Tech & software needed to make it work.....;)

Except it doesn't just have 228bhp though does it, with the electric motor it has a combined 357bhp and can crack 0-62mph in 4.4secs.

Sure a Golf GTI probably does average around 35mpg, but it ain't packing nearly 360 ponies or doing 0-62mph in anywhere near a similar time either.
