Terminally ill boy whose last wish was to see Santa dies in his arms

I tried to avoid reading that article yesterday.

Now I'm sitting in the office thinking about the feels, I believe someone may be cutting onions close by...

RIP little man.

Dont think I'll ever understand why people get upset over 1 death when thousands of people die every day.
Specially over someone you don't even know.
Poor kid though.....least his suffering is over.

You don't understand why people would be more upset about hearing the real human side of a young child dying than they would at reading a statistic for worldwide deaths?

I believe they call it "Empathy". Psychopaths don't posses it

What a great guy read this last night...

Heart breaking although I think i'd want to be hugging my kid during his final moments even if santa were in the room.

I said it was a very sad story but couldn't understand people crying which I thought was a perfectly reasonable post and it was removed as apparently not crying means I'm heartless.

Yeah, tough read this one. Was shedding real tears at my desk reading at work yesterday.

Longer version of the story adds a bit:

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...claus-grants-final-wish-dying-child/95315536/

There's very few things that get me emotional outside of family/friends etc. But this really got to me, felt my eyes tear up, probably because i'm a father now etc that it hit me more.

There's no way i'm going to read a longer version, short one was enough for me.
