Terminally ill boy whose last wish was to see Santa dies in his arms

I try to avoid stories such as these but have to say this is one of the saddest things I have ever read.

Absolutely heartbreaking.

Rest in peace little one.

At least the little fella had some real happiness in his last moments. RIP.

If that story doesn't move you then you are dead inside :(

I'd better call a shrink, then. It's a sad story but some of us just don't get emotional over stuff like this. Maybe the constant barrage of tragedy in the news and life in general just desensitises people to this sort of thing.

Ah man I'm in work trying not to look to the students like I've had a cry. So tragic it's heartbreaking :( :(

Anyone who doesn't get moved by that is probably the younger generation who are so used to communicating electronically that they are lacking in empathy. You can have empathy if you are using a machine to communicate.

That is a very hard read, so upsetting, RIP little fellow, the Santa will have that memory until he dies to, he must be hurting after that.

Although I didn't cry or well up, it is certainly a sad story :(

But seriously, the amount of click bait going around using this is disgusting

Read this yesterday and felt the same as you guys, apart from one poster. Very sad and it must have provoked a dream I had last night too. From what I remember I was shopping on xmas eve in Derby with my wife and little boy, he's 2 in January. He's not quite sure what xmas is or what santa is yet but anyway, as we were shpping a bunch of youths walked past as we queued to see santa in his grotto and they shouted to my lad,

"hes not real mate. your mum and dad get your presents"

I know my boy can't understand what they meant but as it was my dream I saw his face drop and start to cry and look at us both in full flowing tears. From what I remember I laid into these youths verbally infront of everyone and they ran off. it ruined my little boys xmas.

I woke up and had teary eyes.

Christmas is special for our children and it's a time of year that magic to really happen in their eyes. it dosen't matter who is dressed as santa the fact remains our kids just know this person as the santa they love and the one who will bring presents on xmas eve.

Edit: to be fair I have know idea what I would do if I heard someone tell my lad there is no santa... I would probably stand there shocked at the thought of some one actually saying it to a child..

this one isnt fake..what a terrible decision to have to make...even treating him now only extends his life by a couple of months

was at the match last night where he was the mascot and both sets of players were wonderful with him, so well done chelsea, its easy to be cynical about footballers sometimes, but they were very thoughtful last night
