'Outrage as police officers armed with huge guns pose with children at Christmas market'

Are you just ignoring that they had already committed their offence before being killed?

they where in the middle of committing it.

or do you think thy had all gone "whelp, that's enough killing for me better hang around for the police to come shoot me"

Given the statistically negligible probability of a terrorist attack that armed police could effectively intervene in occurring, why were taxpayer resources being squandered in such a manner at this event?

cause its a big public event with lots of alcohol present, they need a police presence may as well be the armed response people while the normal cops continue with the normal jobs.

you could just as well ask why are tax payer resources squandered by having multiple police vans and patrols out every Friday and Saturday night near all the big clubs?

the only outrage from the people of newcastle, where they were, was that the officers were pictured wearing coats...they must have moved here from out the area.

because bullets are well known for stopping 50 tonne trucks. Oh and don't claim they could shoot the driver, because they can't. Windscreens are tougher than the movies and games make them look. That's before they even consider opening fire in a crowded space, and/or even recognising and identifying the danger before anyone gets hurt.

Uh huh. So how about we stick to the point of it (having guns) wouldn't have helped prevent the attack?

That's a stationary truck getting shot by police. Lets see just how accurate they were:

Oops. No shots on or near the driver. So "Not" is the answer.

So you'd want them to open fire on a moving truck in a very crowded place, against a windshield that has a high chance of ricocheting anyway if the angle isn't head on. KK.

All them "bullet" hits are holes. You do understand this right? And the fact they are all on the left (left of the photo) means that the shooters was firing from a right angle as you can clearly see in the video. lol

They wasn't shooting straight in-front of him, but from a right angle so the bullets was hitting the "left side of the windscreen from the drivers pov", but from the shooters pov, the bullets was being fired at an angle towards the driver which passed tho the left side of the windscreen which should had been hitting the driver area.

I also wanted to say, the truck came to a stop as the driver was shot earlier by the Police at an other point in the road.

No he doesn't because remember...

Windscreens are tougher than the movies and games make them look

Not that that statement was in any way supposed to imply that windscreens offered any kind of bullet resistance.

DURRRRRRR

Are you being serious? An air rifle pellet will go through wind-shield glass. Centerfire ammunition will easily penetrate it, head on, or at an angle.

As for the accuracy, the wind-shield was struck plenty of times so what are you complaining about? What did you expect, a 1" group?

Forgive my paintshop skills, but I thought I quickly do this to show what happened when the Police was firing at the Truck Cab.

Needless to say, am sure a lot of bullets missed their target, but some didn't.

I can forgive Dj_Jestar for thinking the bullets holes was made like someone was shooting right in-front of the cab, when you first look at the photo, it's easy to make that mistake, I had that thought as well, but when you see the video and read more about what went down, you can put it all together.

I would suggest he's a none firearm user from his posts. Those of us who use firearms know that most of what he posted is incorrect.

However I think he is probably correct that they'd not fire at a moving target as they'd have no clear backstop to do so and, with the way firearms officers get treated if it goes wrong, I doubt they'd take the risk.

Ignore him hes either an idiot or a troll or both.

German police carry 9mm parabellum which will go through the windscreen like butter and re the above incident in France, the police are clearly on the offside of the vehicle shooting across into the drivers side at a 45 degree angle. Any idiot with eyes cant see that.
