Ex-Wham singer George Michael dies





A great singer, song writer and a great favourite of ours. He will be sorely missed. We had the great privilege to see him on the Symphonica Tour.

That duet with Elton John (Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me) is one of my pop favourites. It's almost impossible to not cheer along at ".... Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Elton John!!" *scream*

Saddened to the bottom of my heart.. Read the news and just felt sick.. So tired of this year now.. All my heros are going one by one...

2016 has been a momentous year for noteworthy deaths. So many have have died who meant so much to so many. R.I.P George.
 
I was shocked and really sad hearing about this when waking up this morning. Not a Wham fan by any means but his solo albums were all classics I still listen to often. 53 is no age to go. Very sad news indeed. :-( RIP George your music will not be forgotten.

Man this hit me this morning when Last Christmas came on the radio.

He was certainly an odd ball but was a real legend and you couldn't dispute his talent.

Really sad news.
 
That's life folks. Maybe the use of drugs hasn't helped over the years and not everyone wants to live to a grand old age as that's no fun either :).
Sad but many talented people the world over die each day who we don't even know (ie, not a celeb).
 
This whole "2016" deaths thing - People do realise it is going to be like this in 2017 too.....and 2018....and 2019 - Of course more high profile people are going to die - The baby boomers are getting to a certain age - The world of "celeb" became more prominent since the 1980's - It's just science and maths.

Notwithstanding this one is probably the biggest shock of this years due to his age.

Didn't really care for his music much, but realise that is a matter of taste and do appreciate he was a very talented chap, very sad.

There certainly will be many 2016's to come and there will be many years like the past you rarely heard deaths. Sadly you only hear deaths of high profile people. Everything goes in cycles.
