Why do we care about a number in the grand scheme of things?

So the moment of the big expansion there is time from this point onwards and forever more until entropy is reached.

Unless you are a 5th dimensional being, then time is just abstract concept and you wonder what all the fuss is about.

So you are saying Time exists outside of human manifest?

I'm saying you need to sit down and think about what you're posting

no time isn't a human invention, as I've already said previously the units we use to measure time are (derived from the rotation of our planet and it's orbit around the sun) but time itself exists regardless

I mean this ought to be fairly apparent but I'm presuming you were drunk or something

When we are so tiny in a hugely incorporeal universe (no of us know)

Leaving aside that 'incorporeal' is an absolute, meaning it is or it isn't, your understanding of physics is either very, very bad or very, very good. You may mean insubstantial. Possibly inconsequential.

But to answer your question, you're here anyway so you might as well enjoy it. And as your knowledge is incomplete you cannot know whether there is more to it than you perceive after all. My advice is to get really deep into mathematics or physics. There's beauty in there that makes you realise how amazing everything around you is.

We're counting animals seeking patterns even when none exist. We care because we perceive an embodied process -- us -- as having a terminal point in its progression. The rest is metaphysics, and some actual physics. But you're unlikely to find anyone willing to plunge into such depths with a hangover on the 1 Jan 2017. :p

Put a glove in a box...Then put the lid on...

Does the glove still exist?

If you think about it, in the grand scheme of things, nothing really matters.

It's quite an alarming but also liberating thing to realise!

Just suddenly dawned on me...

When we are so tiny in a hugely incorporeal universe (no of us know) constructed only by manifest of man we care about a number?

Thanks

Happy New New Year:)

I don't. Many don't.

People that do is just more vocal than those that don't.

It's an awesome thing to realise.

Just yesterday I was perusing a popular auction site here in NZ for unwanted Christmas presents. There's 1000s available. The panic I saw on people's faces before Christmas with their 'OMG, I've not done my shopping yet' ... only for their efforts, money and time to be thrown away for pennies the next day - or shoved in a wardrobe somewhere. All pointless in the end.

I've done NO Christmas shopping and absolutely nothing happened. Still had a decent Christmas lunch and dinner. Didn't celebrate my birthday or NYE and nothing happened.

But yes, I completely agree with your point.

Apart from eating, sleeping and potentially working, we just make up the rest of the stuff we do to stay busy. Whether we do or don't, it absolutely do not matter in the slightest. The world will go on regardless.

It's an awesomely liberating and enjoyable thought and takes the pressure off those that not just realise it, but also live their lives that way.

Yes, (wrong matter level for it not to) its a glove which you have just put in a box, same goes for the cat.

Things do not just disappear with our level of technology, or 90% of GD would be upto there necks in poop.
