Israeli soldier *murders* wounded Palestinian on camera, gets away with it maybe?

In this modern world in which most of us live:D, cameras are everywhere.
Now this Soldier apparently was concerned his neutralised attacker may have a suicide belt but more likely he just revenge killed their attacker.
It brings into question another 150 cases were "prisoners" have been shot in similar circumstances.

We recently discussed the British soldier that "executed" his ISIS captive and how it was against the geneva convention, but justified, as they would do worse to us ....:confused::confused::

Is this conflict ever going to end? Will Trump stop supporting Israel?

I've only ever met 1 Israeli and he was a bit of an arrogant idiot.

He's been found guilty of manslaughter actually so perhaps not... unless he's pardoned.

Very dodgy actions, he was a medic and rather than treat the guy he shot him (rather dodgy/unsafe arcs too - I thought the IDF were supposed to be well trained?)

Pretty sure he needs retraining then... and people complain about the NHS.

I'm not really sure how this can be manslaughter.

It's never going to end :(.

A bunch of people of mostly European descent move to the middle east en masse as (due to their religious beliefs it is their 'homeland') and a bunch of the actual natives/locals end up fighting with them. Not too surprising.


They've now been there for a couple of generations or so and Israel isn't going to go anywhere - a two state solution is needed however that means getting rid of settlements from the Israeli side (and fewer incidents like this) while accepting that they're not going to get the whole of Palestine back from the Arab side and they will now have to accept the existence of another country there.

He needs prison not retraining, it is manslaughter as he clearly killed someone unnecessarily and that was probably the most likely thing they could successfully charge him with. Had the person being killed not been a terrorist who'd just attacked some soldiers then it could easily have been murder.

European descent? the Jews are not from Europe?

actual natives???? the Jews are the actual natives from the Area before being force out by the arabs?

Sorry the retraining bit was supposed to be in jest :( probably not the most appropriate thread for it.


My understanding of manslaughter is wrong apparently. Quick google suggests its much more encompassing than just being at fault in an accidental death (oops). Initially I thought it was murder.

Some were, a decent % were encouraged to move there from Europe. You'll also get a few black jews form Ethiopia too - again, like the blonde haired/blue eyed Jews from Europe the black African Jews are not exactly 'natives' nor is it really their homeland except for the religious link and possibly some recursive chain of Jewish great, great... etc.. grandmothers.

The Jews who moved there post-WW2 were basically Europeans - it is a 'homeland' to them mostly in a religious sense. Then again it is as much theirs as it is Christian and Muslim too.

No, people are concerned because killing a suspect who is on the ground and wounded is in most civilised countries considered murder.

The fact that terrorists do it doesn't mean that the law enforcement agencies and armies should stoop down to the same level, at least not if you want to hang on to any vestiges of the moral high ground.

Nothing to do with being anti Jewish, it's that we sort of expect the armed forces of a country that has a functioning legal system and a professional army to behave better than a terrorists or criminals.

You should probably have a look at what is currently going on regarding Israel before you consider them the victims here.

So far in the last few weeks we have had a UN resolution condemning their settlement program as illegal, followed by Netanyahu raging against it and members of the Israelis political system calling for increased setttlements. There's then the motion being put in front of their legislature to annex multiple settlement areas, including a significant portion of the West Bank. Then just yesterday we heard that several prominent republicans are now pushing for the US Embassy to be moved to Jerusalem, which is likely to be backing up the israeli attempt to basically annex the whole of Jerusalem and make move their capital from Tel Aviv.

The rest of the world want a two state solution. It's becoming increasingly clear that Israel (or at least the politicians in charge) is not interested in that, and are quite happy to treat the Palestinians as cannon fodder and second class humans - see the motion to try and turn Israel into a Jewish state a few months ago, and the all attack on the Gaza Strip a year or so ago, which coincidentally killed more than in Aleppo, yet Assad is seen as murderpis because of that.

There are plenty of moderate Israeli politicians and people in Israel, but with Netanyahu in charge of appears to be edging towards their equivelant of Nazi Germany.

No, that doesn't absolve Palestinians killing (or attempting to kill) Israeli civilians, but it's pretty clear why they are doing what they are doing. They don't have tanks and guided missiles to help them like the Israeli military...

I know there are a few RT watching conspiracy types on here but seriously? WTF are you smoking. Sure the IDF aren't always playing by the rules but it isn't even comparable to Assad's forces.
