Suspected Child Porn?

In all seriousness this sounds like a test. To see whether you would snitch.

Surely you yourself would be done for breaching privacy laws.

but what of those who find kids attractive but don't do anything about it?

That isn't illegal. If I recall this one guy watched CGI or comic drawings (child hentai) of children, rather than viewing real children, or doing it for real.

Ironwarrior??????????? :o:p

This customer is breath-takingly thick. I doubt they would even think of that. Besides, before every connection, we read out a mandatory statement which the customer has to agree to which allows us to do what we like.

Within reason right?

Personally I wouldn't agree to have someone do "what we like" on my computer. Just doesn't sound right.

Guilty before proven innocent?

My thought too. I also wondered if the charges had actually been dropped, or if the defendant had changed plea at the last moment.

At work, I've been cited to attend court many many times, and only had to actually attend once. In every other case the defendent has changed plea at the last minute, sometimes the morning the case was due to start.

I am fairly sure that if a crime is being committed then whatever law protecting that person is superseded. Like a shrink or lawyer may have a client who says they are going to kill someone. The "privilege" between you and them no longer applies and they are within their rights to report you.

Surely you have procedures in place to deal with this kind of thing??? What are your working procedures/rules/regulation telling you to do.

If you don't have anything in place for this kind of thing then your place of work is shockingly poor.

Why post on OcUK with a click bait thread title??

To be honest it sounds like a 'friend' having a laugh at your customer's expense. I mean who would actually name a bookmark that?

I would find out where the bookmark goes, and if anything but www.lololol.com then report, but otherwise it'll be a massive waste of police time.

I wonder if this is going to be the next "My friend is trying to kill bikers with diesel" thread.

I seriously doubt this guy has any.

? Cant find it in search but sounds epic.

I'd have checked out the link if it was indeed a joke tile I'd have changed the URL to something else maybe involving some kind of rotating meat or a party of elderly fruits :D.

Otherwise it's clearly the police.

I would have checked the link, or at least where it led too. Also, couldn't the malware he hired you to fix be the cause of the link?

You could be setting an innocent guy up for a dawn raid. Not to mention the emotional distress of being branded a pedophile, and that sort of thing sticks even if you're proven to be innocent.

Simple. Your job is not to judge or investigate in these situations. Your job I believe is to notify the authorities of your cause for concern and let them take it from there and out of your hands. If it is a genuine mistake/prank then it should be easy for the customer to disprove it and if not then take comfort from the fact you did the right thing. If this was someone planning to drive a lorry into a crowd of people at a market what would you do? There is your answer, this is a bad crime in most peoples books if found to be the case, so do the thing your mind tells you.

Based purely on the know facts of this case:

A link like that wouldn't in itself be illegal. Chances are if it did link directly to something that was illegal it wouldn't last long. Most illegal stuff is likely to be hidden in some way. We don't even know how the link go there, some sites might auto bookmark crap.I'm sure you know the average internet user downloads and install loads of garbage/viruses.

Also naked "whatever age" isn't illegal if it's not of a sexual or sexually provocative nature. Example I'm sure my mum still have photos of me in the bath when I was 4. ;_;

I'd be more worried about wasting police time as to investigate such a case will use a lot of resource for so little evidence.

Now if you saw any image that you deemed illegal that would be completely different an instant police call. (That was the case with Gary Glitter) That is real evidence.
