My brother's girlfriend went out this morning about 4:30. She noticed a scruffy old Gola bag next to my car. She didn't want to come back in so left it. It was still there at 9am when my neighbour took it in and popped a note through my door.

I went and got it this afternoon and looked in it, there was an old jumper, a set of jump leads and a tow rope. I have no idea why this would be there. The car is on the drive and it was found next to the drivers door in between my car and another on our drive. Someone would have had to purposely walk between the cars to put it there.

I'm utterly baffled. If it was on the street, I would have just said someone had dropped it or forgotten about it, but to actually be on the drive between 2 cars. Very odd.

The truth is out there.

Don't leave the house, lock your doors, draw the curtains, turn the phone off, disconnect the router, hide under the bed with a torch.
Have a great night!

Sounds like someone is after one of your cars. Maybe they were interrupted by your brother's gf and left it when running away.

Could be that someone was planning on stealing your car by towing it out somewhere quiet, before using the leads to get it started (if needs be). They then got spooked by a neighbour or passing car and just ditched the bag and left.

Possible, it is quite a nice car. 16 plate white Mercedes A class sport. But how the hell can you tow a new car away without getting in to take the handbrake off and then, how can you jumpstart a car without the keys?

Use jammers and then reporgram a new key:

Some cars also have blind spots in the internal sensor allowing people to access the OBD port to reprogram a key.

Or if there is a handbrake cable they could just cut it, I'm guessing modern car's might not use cables though?

(I'm not a car thief)

I wish I had one of those CCTV cameras up. If it is a thief, they hopefully wont come back now they know they have left a bag behind.
