*** Nintendo Switch ***

Ovepriced, underpowered and barely any games. Pretty much a massive let down in every way!

I kinda thought that would be the outcome.

They really need to ditch the hardware market and start making games for the PlayStation and Xbox. People would lap it up, with a bonus of not having to buy gimped Nintendo hardware.

So what's the verdict then ? Can someone sum it all up ? Was the announcement what you hoped for it ?

I hoped for a cheaper price for the console, cheaper game prices and a bigger launch catalogue of games. I would have been fine if the hardware was the new tegra which is a lot more powerful, but it does not seem to be the case. As it is, a bit of a fail launch.

That said, I want to play the best available version of Zelda. I can also play it on the go if I wish to do so, or in bed. End result, pre-ordered and cannot wait until it comes :D

Yeah Halo sucked didn't it, as did Forza, Wipeout, Ridge Racer, Project Gotham Racing.

One or two good games out of 10+. My point still stands.

I hope this proves too much even for the Nintendo faithful. Can't really defend this one in any way.

Read the thread, they love it, it's just what they want. Nintendo delivered everything they had hoped for.

No, your point was that nothing on those lists was mind blowing.

Somewhere in Nintendo headquarters someone was giving a choice to make, rush for Zelda being ready, in doing so can only release one new AAA title probably before the end of the year, only get a MK8 port 2 months late and have to use last gen hardware with worse battery life and less performance or wait till xmas 2017, have double the battery life in undocked, double the performance docked and have 3-4 new AAA games ready and a bunch of ports ready to release with 15+ games. Someone actually chose the first rather than the second option, that guy shouldn't be trusted with the lunch order.

I am sure there was a lot more to it than that. But I agree with you, launching end of the year would have made a lot more sense :)

I don't really take any notice of people on here to be fair. Only a few posters who are worth reading, which includes you when you're not posting jokes ;)

 Agreed that was my point. My response was, once again, in my opinion (which for some reason you care about) I didn't find any of them mind blowing. Which I maintain. Which is still my opinion. And still my point.

Can't see it selling that well but I'll no doubt buy one just to play Zelda, Metroid and any Mario 3D titles they release. It'll make a good second/third console for avid gamers and Nintendo fans but i don't think it'll get much beyond that. I can't see many people breaking out their Switch on the train/bus/etc as opposed to just playing with their phones. The average battery life kills it as a true portable as well.

But Zelda does look awesome!!!

I'm bitterly disappointed (as people can probably tell) with the reveal, I really was interested when the original reveal happened and was looking forward to seeing what Nintendo would bring to the table with the new console, but they really do seem to have brought everything bad about gaming in one device, quite impressive really.

We even get remasters (Mario Kart 8) and open world Mario games (at a time when everyone is moaning about open world fatigue and Nintendo innovation did anyone want this?) on the Switch.

I have never played a Zelda game before so there is zero interest in that for me.

Well I for one can't wait to attend a BBQ, break out my Switch and play a good 'ol game of 12-Switch with my new found friends, before never being invited again.

Lol, your friends will love the milking the cow game, just don't make eye contact.

:) and :(

Good new for people who pre-ordered over at gameseek :D

Nintendo has at long last revealed the release date and retail price of the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch, and many of you have already emailed, tweeted and messaged us to find out if we'll be honouring our Switch pre-order price.

We've got good news: everybody that ordered a Nintendo Switch at GameSeek will have their pre-order honoured at £198.50, over £80 lower than Nintendo's advertised £279.99 UK retail price.

We'll be bringing you more news on the Nintendo Switch and updating our listing with all the latest information throughout the day, but thought it was important to let our customers know that their pre-orders are in safe hands before cracking on with business.

Thanks to all that pre-ordered Nintendo Switch through our website, we hope the console lives up to your high expectations when it launches on March 3rd.

I was close to pre-ordering from them. But I did not think this would happen. I think this is why a lot of people here are not happy about the Switch, they expected a £200 price point.

I can't get over 1,2 Switch costing $50. Who can press this button, once, faster than the other one while moving your wrist a bit.... $50 for that? Seriously that should be a 100% free demo that comes with the console as standard.

It's absolutely incredible what Nintendo have done here. The smart phone integration looks to be a pain, the lack of Switch exclusives is just laughable.

To have Switch 1-2 as your only Switch exclusive at launch is hilarious.
