*** Nintendo Switch ***

I'm dying for Breath of the Wild, but I think I'll wait and see the rest of the line up as we come up to launch and in the following weeks.

The one thing that may sell it to me is the fact I'm going to be changing jobs and working over an hour from home shortly, so I may find use for this as a 'turbo' handheld.

I feel a little ambivalent over this release, seems a bit of a mess, the one good thing is it sounds like Nintendo are letting younger staff members make more decisions, and there are some signs of modernisation, it's just a case of seeing what they bring to the market.

Good new for people who pre-ordered over at gameseek :D

I was close to pre-ordering from them. But I did not think this would happen. I think this is why a lot of people here are not happy about the Switch, they expected a £200 price point.

Which says to me not many people actually preordered!

Great bit of PR for them (Gameseek) though.

Indeed it's not, but you can be sure it will be the 'definitive version'. Look at Twilight Princess, ran flawlessly on the Wii, but the rare Gamecube version had a few issues with framerate etc at times.

open world Mario games (at a time when everyone is moaning about open world fatigue and Nintendo innovation did anyone want this?) on the Switch.

I'm with you apart from this bit. I've been waiting on a decent open world, adventure/platform Mario game since Mario 64! Sunshine didn't cut it and that was released around 15 years ago. I'd pay asking price just for that game. What I don't want is another 2.5D hybrid like 3D world and Galaxy (despite how good Galaxy 1 & 2 were) with bit sized levels. So far i'm not convinced by the new Mario - looks like another hybrid.

The adventure platform genre has been been dead for years and i'm hoping Yooka Laylee will kick start a resurgence. It's a shame Nintendo don't seem to be giving it a shot.

I am impressed by what I have seen of the HD-Rumble in the Joy-Con.

But I am still wondering what is this about :p

Yeah I was going to pre-order with them but they wanted the money up-front IIRC and I read less than desireable things about them on trust pilot. Boo.

£200 is a good price for it, and hopefully it will be down to that price for everyone soon enough like the 3DS price drop.

Fair play for GameSeek honouring it, though perhaps they didn't have much choice unless they wanted a PR nightmare.

It's probably that in part that has created the disappointment on the pricing. I never did buy that it was going to be £200.

Never had a problem with them, used them at least 2 times in the past. But I just prefered using amazon so did not bother. Damn :(:p

I recently read something about a lower quality screen being used on the later versions of it, was that the 3DS and did that coincide with the price drop if you know?

I only want Zelda, but like how I can walk around with it and play whilst doing a number 2 etc so bought the console too

Bingo! Hahahaha :D

No one buy mine if I decide to sell it. LOL. :p

I know the later LCD PS Vita screens were terrible compared to the original OLED ones, but I don't know anything about the same happening with the 3DS.

This is gonna end up like the Wii (but not sell as many). I started to think the Wii came with an inch of dust on top of them because I never saw one that didn't have it.

All the grannies, soccer moms and unfit people buy it for the gimmick because they see it on TV and play the tech demo game then never touch it again.

Oh and then there's this: http://www.gamezone.com/news/amazon...o-switch-stock-in-less-than-two-hours-3447527
