*** Nintendo Switch ***

It's absolutely incredible what Nintendo have done here. The smart phone integration looks to be a pain, the lack of Switch exclusives is just laughable.

To have Switch 1-2 as your only Switch exclusive at launch is hilarious.

Honestly my brain hadn't even framed it like that. Yes, the only exclusive is 1,2, Switch.. that is why it costs $50, because it's the only exclusive game. If you launch with 2 games in some markets and one is 33% cheaper on the Wii U, the other is free... it looks ridiculous. But 1,2,Switch being the only, and the first exclusive at launch... hahaha.

I mean it literally looks like the dumbest game ever. The video showing it, it's such a boring and pointless game that the video focused on different people dressing up in strange ways to play, rather than them actually playing... because there is nothing actually to the game at all.

Missed the bit about Zelda? :p

Or are you getting at something else?

Zelda is on Wii U as well ;)

I only want Zelda, but like how I can walk around with it and play whilst doing a number 2 etc so bought the console too

But, can't you just do that with the Wii U control pad anyway? Go gamepad mode, walk off to the toilet, come back and go back to screen mode? TBH I've never tried playing my U anywhere but infront of the tv and don't have many games so not sure if all or how many games can be played like that.

This is gonna end up like the Wii (but not sell as many). I started to think the Wii came with an inch of dust on top of them because I never saw one that didn't have it.

All the grannies, soccer moms and unfit people buy it for the gimmick because they see it on TV and play the tech demo game then never touch it again.

Nah, this is a portable system, it will be different and grannies/soccer mum's won't be buying in the first place anyway. All Nintendo need to do is release more quality first party games than they usually do, they have a ton of great IP's yet they take ages to release them (I want F-Zero damn it!). Also for there to be better third party support obviously. We will know for sure when we see the 2018 line up. But that said, I am not exactly very optimistic myself.

My toilet is not in range!! It barely worked in the room next door anyway. lol.

Oh and then there's this: http://www.gamezone.com/news/amazon...o-switch-stock-in-less-than-two-hours-3447527

They won't, the media fell for the Wii gimmick, lots of people bought them then never played beyond two weeks. but the entire world knows that already. They've all cottoned on to the fact that motion control games just suck. When Oprah or anyone else would think about doing a segment they'll just go, wait, we did this with the Wii, this isn't new and they all know they never touched the Wii again after two weeks.

Also to the average older person who fell into the Wii gimmick/marketing track, I can't imagine any think taking it out with them is a bonus.

You can get away with what Nintendo did with the Wii and the mass marketing once, then everyone is basically wise to it. They all remember the Wii's and it won't get nearly the same hype to fool people into buying it. I see no chance of this ending up with Wii like sales because of insane marketing and gimmicks.

I walked straight into that...
But why would it be £400 fir the pro controller and switch? The pro controller is only like £60 or so?

Also, lets say you take the switch with you whislt you travel abroad, how can one charge this? Do you have to take the original docking charger with you on the move?

I said £400. That was with the console, 1 game and the pro controller.

Surely building a new bathroom next to the living room is cheaper than buying a Switch though ;)

My god that looks like a disaster.
Once again that thing is not going to be supported with any games.
What the hell was with the Mario game!?

32GB...what?
Nearly £100 for controllers?
No Launch games.
Their own dev architecture so support will be limited.
Now they have added an Online Paywall....Nintendo..you NEVER had good online.

And how has Nintendo not realised this?? All they had to do was have some more power in the dock and they'd have had a huge catalogue on launch day with the 3rd parties being able to port their AAA games to it, only needed around xbone power. Mass effect Andromeda and resident evil 7 would have done.

They have basically thought 'ohh, we sell lots of handhelds and we sold loads of Wii's because of the gimmicks, lets throw them together but halfass it all.

I wasn't particularly interested but then I saw the Mario and Zelda trailers. They look incredible!

I'm not sure it's enough to sway me. If it was £250, the accessories and games weren't ridiculously priced (although the prices of games may just be placeholders) and there were more exclusive games coming out this year I may well have snapped one up.

I think I'll certainly pick one up but I will probably wait until everything drops in price.

IMO Nintendo have lost their way. The gamecube was great but the Wii and everything else they've released has been way to gimmicky. They don't need the gimmicks, their 1st party games will sell their consoles. Just release a good solid console to rival xbox/ps and I'd be all over it.

As it stands no one is ever going to buy a Nintendo for anything other than their 1st party games and I reckon most that are bought are secondary consoles.

They need to release a console that really makes you think about the choice of which console to buy.

You buy either a PS4 or Xbone for their exclusives only because you know they have the licenses and will handle all 3rd party games equally (more or less). No on ever buys a Nintendo unless they really want to play Nintendo games because they either don't have the license or release a poor mans version of the game.

I woke up early to pre-order and have had a bit of time to soak up the info. Hmmm, my thoughts so far.. Where to start. What a shame. What a mess.

It's expensive, and additional controls are hideously expensive.

Where are the launch games?! I'm starting to feel like these large Japanese companies have had a lobotomy, due to a complete lack of common sense (Hi, Canon). Whose bright idea was it to go ahead and release the console with only 2 games available? Most of us will not be interested in some gimmicky party game (Switch 1 2), what an embarrassment of a game. Where's the third party support at? I saw Fifa, and it looks like that's going to be a trimmed down version.

I had my suspicions that the Switch was delayed last year in order to get the games lined up and in order, guess I was wrong. :p

Lack of detailed hardware information in the presentation can only mean bad things. Battery life is something to watch.

I see going the same way that the Wii-U, unfortunately. My pre-order is still in place, just.. for now. May need to keep ahold of my N3DS and Vita for flights this year, as at least there are games available for it.

I still have my pre order but I'm going to just finish Zelda and then flog it. I'd rather do that than have it sat gathering dust and running out of warranty until Mario arrives.

Also the gimmicks nowadays all end up like Kinect, no one makes any games for them and they're just an expensive mandatory add on.

Kinect, I forgot that existed until you just mentioned it. lol

Chances are I will do the same. I may keep if they release Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at a reasonable price however, we enjoyed playing that a lot on the Wii U, could play it in bed or in the toilet. But I would not pay £50 for it out of principle :)

Fair play for GameSeek honouring it, though perhaps they didn't have much choice unless they wanted a PR nightmare.

It's probably that in part that has created the disappointment on the pricing. I never did buy that it was going to be £200.

GameSeek take money on order. So peoples preorders have already been paid for. They wouldn't have any choice unless they decide to refund everyone and make a huge dent it their pockets.

Ill bet you that once this thing is off the dock, or it doesn't detect a power source, it will scale back some of the hardware or something... I cant believe it would still run full pelt...

Ive preordered but....
I just want to play Zelda at this stage... I think the Wii U version should be the same as the Switch...?
