My kids saw me watching some of Switch video's and seemed really interested, I did kinda promise them one if they sold the Wii U to part fund it, but to be honest I'm tempted to hold out and get them one for christmas amd see how things pan out. The price seem's a bit much considering the tech, the games look rather lacklustre bar Mario and Zelda and I just don't think Nintendo have listened to a word people have said. The online is yet again a total mystery, voice chat via a phone app? Sounds ridiculous, who is going to pay a subscription for that? It's about time they got their head out of their backsides and started listening to what people want.
To me it doesn't look like graphically it's really made much of a leap over the Wii U, MK8 Deluxe seems like they've made tweaks and fixed battle mode (should have been done via DLC!), Splatoon 2 just looks like another tweaked version of the original which is a fantastic game I might add, it's just not giving me the "wow" factor. Don't get me wrong Mario looks like a cracking game but you just look at that release schedule and it looks really poor. Most are ports or games that have been out for months.
The accessories seem pricey, I assume you can't use Wii U gear on it? If so great but I can't see anything mentioned. I can also see third party support dying within the first year. Nintendo really need to get a console that can compete with Sony and MS because they are in serious danger of losing their fan base. When you consider how long they've had to work on another Metroid etc they've totally missed the boat in my view. I have no idea what the developers see in this thing at the moment because I've found the whole experience another Wii U saga. I got burnt once with the Wii U so maybe that's why I'm so disappointed again.
