I have owned every single Nintendo console since the NES. I still remember completing Mario when I was about 5 years old. Love Nintendo games. What I find annoying is they have so many great IPs they just sit on and they then take ages to develop or don't at all. Why not hire more developers and get those games out?
I really do think the Switch would have been better and a bigger hit even at this price point had the machine been a tegra P1 together with the Mario game coming out near the launch rather than the end of the near. But as it is it feels like they went with the older cheaper tech and we are over paying for it and we only have Zelda as a big game at launch. The game and accessories price just makes things worse IMO.
I am still hoping amazon reduce the pre-order price of Zelda. One other place already has it up for preorder for £50. Still too much, but better. The games need to be £40, max £50 due to the weak pound.
I still think even as it is now, unless the 2018 game line up is bad, this will sell a lot more than the Wii U did. This will definitely not be the last Nintendo console we see IMO.
