5 nights in vegas

Stock up on dollar bills.....lots of them. You can't ask someone the time without giving them a tip! It really started to drag a bit.

If you are going to go to the Grand Canyon take the helicopter there, not the coach. The coach trip is way too long. The chopper ride over the canyon was a bucket list moment, and the humour wasn't lost when the pilot played Pink Floyd Learning to Fly over the comms when taking off :).

Vegas certainly polarises peoples opinions on here I've always found! Either people love it or hate it.

Heh.. agreed... I've never heard anyone say, "Vegas was OK" in real life either.

I think if you're relatively young and not been to Vegas before then you really should be able to find something to do for seven days. It'll cost you mind, especially at the exchange rate these days! Perhaps wait for Trump to screw things up in case the dollar takes a dive.

Been 3 times, 1st with Mrs for 8 nights and was a bit to long but was hot so sat around pool in day and out for a meal, did all the sights. 2nd with mates for 6 nights and it was epic, total nuts, drinks, bar crawls, strip club etc. 3rd time with wet boring mates that spent more on the flight upgrade than spending money, stayed in for 2 of the 4 nights.

Good, you'd be disappointed it is in Nevada. :p
Haha woops. I do know that, the last time I went I was working in LA and drove up with my dad. There's a expo we go to every year and everyone from LA decamps to Vegas. It's pretty fun :) I think I meant to write the "west coast" in my defence :o

Agreed about the tipping. Tedious..

I've done 10 nights in Vegas on two occasions, both times I felt that after about 7 dayswe ran out of things to do.

5 days should be fine I imagine, although you'll want to budget a decent amount of spending money for each day.

Again - depends on what you want to do really - I headed over November past to see the Kovalev vs Ward fight and it worked out cheap enough so went for the week, week was great, went out most nights - tried activities durning the day - couldnt have fit it all in 3 days - 5 days would be a good time Id say.

I'm going in April for 5 nights. Not really too sure what I'm doing yet, but I know I'll be hiring a car and driving to the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon on one of the days. I'm quite looking forward to it :) Be interested to hear other suggestions too.

Big difference in what people would do first time and on subsequent visits - I couldn't imagine staying more than 2-3 days there tops but for a first visit before you've "done" some of the token things to do in Vegas, etc. then 5 days is fine aslong as you are half pro-active and get out and do/find them.

Where is a good and not too expensive hotel to stop in Vegas. I am seeing all these bad reviews about bed bugs and dirty rooms. Can I trust these reviews?

Did vegas for 10 days, yep 10 days, was definetly too much. 5 would be about right imo, Well depending what your scene is.

The hotels in Vegas are probably the best you would get around for your cash. Dont skimp out on a hotel, its one of the best parts of the holiday.

I've stayed in 6 different Vegas hotels and can't fault any of them.

The Bellagio was my favourite, by a long way. Its actually not too expensive and has a great breakfast buffet!

The MGM Grand rooms were perfectly clean and functional although I did feel that the hotel is starting to look a bit tired.

The Hard Rock wouldn't be my scene now, but the pool party was worth experiencing once in your life.

New York, New York, probably the best value for money out of all the hotels I stayed in. Was able to get a suite with Jacuzzi, etc for about $50 a night when we ended up here.

The Mirage was nothing special, against perfectly clean and tidy, but for the money I think I expected more. Given its about the same price as the Bellagio I wouldn't stay here again.

Planet Hollywood - had 7 days here in a suite just after it was finished. Lovely room with a Jacuzzi, great location, very modern feel.

In all honesty I think if you're booking on the strip you'd do well to find a bad hotel. Perhaps some people may have had issues but I think that's the exception to the rule as opposed to the norm.

The top hotels are:

- Wynn/ Encore,
- A ria - how's that a swear?
- Cosmopolitan
- Mandarin Oriental

(in my eyes)

Going on age of hotel and what they have inside.

People in my team who go to Vegas every year always stay at the Palazzo because every room is a suite. Might be worth a shout for the Vegas experience. I get the impression it's a bit tired now though.

I just returned back from Vegas, I really didn't actually enjoy Vegas itself. 3 days would be too long for me. it is very superficial, very plastic and very touristy, not my scene at all.

Should have head out a little bit. Vegas is a tourist attraction. In it's own right, amazing. But there is so much other stuff around.

Loved Vegas

Spent 4 days there in feb last year and it was amazing i do admit it helped me and the misses won 1400 dollers between us within a hour of arriving at the strip at the Wynn on fruit machines so we really didn't have a care in the world at the time.

We went to Omnia to watch Calvin Harris and the drinks for a basic vodka and lemonade was $29 but due to the above i didn't mind at the time.

Im worried if i go back its gonna ruin it for me since the amazing time i had the first time.

And i still have the Fat Tuesdays yard i bought to walk the strip lol

We are off to Vegas on 20th Feb for 5 nights staying at the Cosmopolitan. Surprise 30th present from the girlfriend! :) Got a few things planned, Shooting at range 702, trip to the south rim of the Grand Canyon and some other bits.

How was the weather when you went in Feb? I'm not sure what sort of clothes I should be taking!

We stayed at the Cosmo, it is an excellent hotel. Think we managed to get a room a couple of floors below the top.

We really love Vegas. Even if you're not keen on drinking and gambling - there's a lot of great food, nice weather, great shows.
