I thought my neighbour was insane because she and her boyfriend brought a homeless guy back to theirs from London after they missed their last train and got talking to him a couple of weeks ago. Since then though the guy has turned his life around, he's got somewhere to stay and a full time job!

Really please for the guy and an amazing act of kindness from my neighbour and her friends. They were even on This Morning the other day.

Nice one. Love stories like this. However, they are a lot braver than me inviting a strange homeless man into their home, but nice to see it all worked out.

However, part of me is wondering whether or not this was a bit of a swinger job. He's at it with his missus while the old mans sitting in the corner giving himself a little tug. You never know.

Yeah, maybe I'm being a bit cynical but it does seem like there could be more to it than is being made out in the article, specifically the way the above post mentions :p

Lmao, stranger things have happened. Thanks for that image.

An extremely generous, but also somewhat dangerous thing to do. Yes, it all turned out for the best this time. But the random stranger you invite into your home could end up raping/murdering you.

Yes, a bit cynical about the story myself. They were about to face a night on the streets then they realised how cold it was and just took the chap home.. wut?

If more swingers in the world means less people on the streets then fair play.

edit: I've also got to agree with Craigs points above^

If you do shift work you can always tell who the genuine ones are because they're asleep in a doorway at 6am.

There are tonnes of professional beggars out there though. I've seen changeovers with a dog staying in-situ and the replacement beggar jumping out of a Merc at London Bridge!

I've personally helped a homeless person by letting him stay with me for a few months rent-free. Not a tramp, just a guy I knew who hit hard times and had nowhere to go. It can pay off but I can see it going horribly wrong if you're naive.

Funny thing is you get screwed and lose your single person discount by helping out. Gits. No good deed goes unpunished.

When I was staying in London a couple of years back I saw 'beggars' being dropped off in a minibus and setting up for a days begging three days on the trot. Seems to be a lucrative business for some, and it's a real shame for genuine homeless people who don't get believed anymore.

Funny you should say that, I recall a lot of the covent garden performers describing themselves as professional beggars in their banter.

I know it's a lot more organised than it looks down to everyone having their own invisible slots but still, they call themselves that.

We need tefals opinion in here :D.

Lovely story.

nah most swingers hate single males :p

I think it would be a judgement call there's a difference between he out of luck guy who's life fell apart but he's still decent and the alcoholic drug addict type who'll beat you for a fiver.

Is there a ... best outcome formula to use here?

Asking for a friend.

I was about to type a message about how cynical and twisted you guys are... Then I watched the vid and yeah, boyfriend looks a little 'sit in corner tugging'

On a side note, my mum took in a homeless guy when I was about 10. I remember coming home and he was in the bath and the door was open. The filth coming off him was something I can still remember. The guy was well known where I live and was a nice enough chap in his late 50s. When he died it turned out he had about £90k in the bank and left it to the council. This was the 80s, that's a lot of money!

Oh this 'homeless' guy has turned up now after their original Daily Mail article with just a Facebook post screenshot and photos of them all dressed up.
