Resident Evil 7 Benchmarks

No doubt AMD would have been working with the devs they even had the release drivers out one week before games release.
Very nice too see tbh

I would have thought both AMD and Nvidia would get an alpha/beta release to test with before general release of the game.

I reckon it's all planned by both AMD and Nvidia to get us to buy one each of their cards :D. Best way to increase the market of a specialist product - make em buy one of each = market double the size potentially

Joking!

I know a fair few with both PS and Xbox consoles........

The game only has HBAO+ from Nvidia. Physics is Havok hence why it runs well I guess.
I tested the demo on my 390 today and am getting around 150fps maxed out @1080P and 95 fps@1440P. The shadow cache is apparently for caching static shadows according to the options text but doesn't seem to affect peroformance in the demo. Maybe the final version is different.

I haven't even tried the demo yet but I have read that it does perform differently to the end game somewhere, Not in a bad way though, When you are talking about 80, 90 and beyond fps's in this style of game a 10 or 20 fps lead doesn't make much of a difference to how it feels and looks so performance appears to be good for everyone, As it should be.

It is, It bodes well for future releases.

To be honest, this game is the beginning of the new trend , where things are significantly will be changed. Vulkan was the pre-view.

P.S.: don't get me wrong. I like nvidia, i like my card but i see they just not doing good at all in DX 12/vulkan and new games.

I imagine the rumours that Volta is a lot more like GCN is true, They'll have the tech's when it's a lot more commonplace, Plus they'll have it as a reason to get Maxwell and Pascal owners to upgrade which is a win in their books. :D

It is lol I have no idea why he thinks it's Vulkan.

Probably because AMD are winning with the like for like gpu's

Wow just tested shadow cache and off vs on is 20fps increase on my system!!

when I bring up AMD relive onscreen to capture it drops fps a little thats why you seeing 62 vs 78.. Without overlay on its 65 vs 85 only change when enabling and disabling shadow cache..
So why did Guru3D disable this again on the retest? if its boosting my performance this much what is the 480, fury etc getting?

The same reason they refuse to benchmark Doom in Vulkan mode?
It doesn't make any sense does it, the only reason they would do this is to hide AMD's actual performance.

The Doom Vulkan thing i could give them the benefit of the doubt but now there is a clear pattern forming with Guru3D

It is a bit naughty, Turning settings off because certain gpu's can't handle it is wrong, especially if those that can got a big improvement from it, I don't remember anyone offering to put the textures down one for ROTTR testing because it was too much for the Fiji cards.

Either the GTX1070 run was after the Fury card or it could be the Nvidia drivers pushing a greater CPU load as they thread better IIRC.

lol you wouldn't see that much difference in temps with that kind of load, be serious.

You'd have to be pulling substantially more current through the die to see a 24-28% increase in temperature
