I just upgraded my GTX 670 to a 1060 and I don't game on the PC anymore so I'm good.
I'm hoping to catch a £400 1080 on the MM once people start swapping them like mad for the 1080 ti (which they will - upgradeitis is too real).
I just punched in some figures regarding price/performance of Maxell & Pascal cards. As I game at 3440*1440, the most relevant "bang" for me is the Firestrike Extreme benchmark. Taking the Graphics score for each card and dividing by the cost tells us how many benchmark points we get for each £. It doesn't get much more scientific than that!
Some observations:
I'll be interested to see how the upcoming 1080ti slots in here.
- X70 series cards are best bang for buck.
- The current 1080 was excellent bang for buck during Gibbo's recent sales, and even at current price is better than it's predecessor.
- Titans are horrendous bang for buck, but longevity may offset this?

I want to hate this post...and call you a sad little geek
But all I want to do is hug you![]()
the success of the Ti came from it's ability to bring Titan performance at a much lower price, the thing is will this be the case this time around?
Nvidia have been hiking up the prices of their GTX series and the Titan, the 1080 is around 600£, so for how much money would they release Ti for ?
since the TitanXP price increased by about 200£ from the TitanX, and the 1080 increase from the 980, that puts the 1080Ti at 800£, hardly worth the wait at that point or the hype, because you will basicaly pay a Ti for a regular Titan price before the introduction of the XP.
my post started with " the success of the Ti series came from : ..."If it's £800 with Titan performance then it'll be better bang for buck than the 1080.
