Will you buy a an AIB 1080 ti if it's 799+ ?

I wouldn't have thought AIB will be any more than £30-£50 more for a decent model? When spending big money on a GPU my thought is go as high as 10%-20% more than reference for a decent cooler, had a R9 290 reference and it did my head in.

I'd never spend more than £250 on a GPU. £800 on a GPU is insane although it's good they exist for trickle down features.

Once upon a time I thought the same thing but each purchase gets more and more expensive!

If I didn't have a 1080, I would have gotten one for 800-ish. Since I have a 1080, there's no point looking at upgrades just yet.

Why more, last time Nvidia did a £100 FE tax. Also most 1080's clocked very similarly after the dust settled so again why pay more for similar performance?

Nope I'll be waiting til I can get near enough the same performance for £350 in a Gibbo special when nVidia refreshes :o

I wouldn't but I see why they exist, I've said all along, you will have some budget models for £630 to £650. You will have the various Asus tax models where you pay £150 for some flashing lights, then we will see some AIO cooled ones with higher oc that are probably £150 to £200 more depending on how well it actually clocks.

nope £699 for the FE would be my maximum limit, especially as they oc the same and I like the looks of the FE and they do have their own benefits.
depends as well on what the card is I would never spend £600+ on a 1080 even on release simple reason it is high end Pascal but not very high end only the top tier cards of each Gen would I pay this much
good old days of getting my 980 Ti for £575 launch day! then again Titan X was £900 whereas this time Titan X is £1179? makes the 1080 Ti look even better value against Titan XP than the 980 Ti did against Titan XM
Nvidia are good -_-

I'll pay for performance only, if for example an EVGA 1080Ti FTW3 can reliably hit 2.1Ghz when a FE is 2GHz then that justifies a 10% price increase given the 5% performance boost max. So if EVGA and retailers ask more than £770 they can market their asses off all they like but I won't touch it. If they try and upsell it to £800+ then they should be named and shamed imho and we can see which hardware review sites call them out on it.

Only if non ref clock substantially higher unlike all the 1080 junk. I'll be blocking mine so no interest in cooler design (higher price) and flashy lights.
