Retro console and games thread

going back to my saturn post, been looking on amibay and tbh, theres not a lot for sale
im currently after a MK 1, but theres a modded one with a region switch , but is a MK2, he wants £45 for it, but a little scratched, maybe you've seen it on there ? tempted to try and get it, what do you think about the price?

Just collected this.

Not bad for £35. Doubt I'll keep the GameCube itself, as I already have a black one. Hopefully selling the GC should cover my costs or pretty close.

Just need some GBA and GB games now.

What's that at the bottom?

GameBoy player.

Plays GameBoy Advance, GameBoy and GameBoy Colour games. However it doesn't work unless you have the boot disk.

They go for around £25 without the disk and £50 with it.

Or a Pokemon Colosseum memory card.

I'm sure they exist but it's probably only worth doing it for the rarer and more expensive games.

Open it up and see. You'll know straight away if it's not a genuine PCB.

photos now uploaded

Less common on the NES than the megadrive i take it

not sure if i got the right tool for that, but ill take a look, don't want to damage it in anyway though

I don't have any NES cartridges to compare to. but a quick Google confirms Kung Fu was a 5 screw cartridge and the label matches photos of the original PAL label.
Repros would be of the North American label in most cases.

Picked this up last week from The Works for £7.

Hard back cover, but pages are more like magazine quality. Over 300 pages.

I remember a mate of mine back in the day, raved on about the Falcon, really cool machine that was, people did a lot of musical work on it iirc

Expensive and rare these days, only about 20000 were made. It came out in 1992 as a contemporary to the Amiga 1200 and was discontinued in 1993 when Atari ditched computers to concentrate on the Jaguar console. The falcon was pretty expensive and quite radical in its day.

Doing my "weekly rare check" on the bay. Is Grandia for PS1 rare, both discs black label?

Edit: Just found Crash Bandicoot 2 Cortex Strikes Back for under £20.. Have to buy!

Metroid !! :)

im currently winning a NES on the bay :)

I bought a megadrive 1 as per barmy recommendation , one with the high definition on it
and the RF cable they sent me is too small to fit the A/V socket, could it be for a MK2 ?

ive ordered the proper scart lead, just wanted to test the machine out to make sure it works
