GTX 1080ti "II" to be announced?

Well I wouldn't put it past them. First they release the Titan XP which they say is for "deep learning" and NOT gaming. Then they release the 1080ti which is more powerful than the Titan XP but this card IS for gaming??? That makes the "deep learning" excuse on the Titan XP a total lie. This also annoys the Titan XP owners because of the extra power and cheaper price point of the 1080ti.
Then to top it all off, they kick Titan XP owners in the balls again by releasing a new Titan Xp. Nvidia are just manipulating everyone just to maximise profit, even at the expense of their reputation.

Just as Steam is now rife with a pre-order, day one DLC's and early access culture because no one will stop buying into it. The same will end up with top end Nvidia cards, there will end up being multiple 'high end' gpu's with every generation.

I used to always buy the Titan cards, but I am glad I missed out on this generations Titan (sent mine back on day one due to coil whine), but I will never buy a Titan card again after what they have done. I just hope this disease stays contained within the Titan range only.

No GTX 1080ti "II" to be announced.

The existing 1080 Ti already comes with the upgraded memory seen on the Titan XP, and the soon to be launched upgraded 1060 and 1080.

I don't think the titan is slower than the 1080 ti it's just clocked a little lower but it has more cores and more vram and there's so much overclocking headroom. I believe the titan is still faster in bbenchmarks when properly overclocked.

No, the new TitanXP2 is there to offer a bigger performance differentiation between the Halo Titan and the 1080ti. The 1080ti came out because yieleds are now extremely good, which allows the full fat GP102 chip to be used in the TXP2.

Having just checked benchmarks on these forums the 1080ti is 'some way' off the titan. Ok not a huge amount but it's not the other way around.

Does it matter if a new card comes out? I dont get the issue. Why do people HAVE to have the top one?

It's just the way the modern mind works nowadays, we all want the best no matter how much we tell ourselves we don't. The only barrier is currency.

I highly doubt it. Plus like the new TXP it would be a complete waste for anyone on a Ti or TX. Your talking 5% faster than a Ti/TX depending on a few factors.

This card will be for those who must have the best whatever the cost or performance gains and nvidia know this. At its cost of £1159. Not for me anyway.

I think the real point of the op is too highlight how little Nvidia care about the userbase, something which I hope comes back to bite them on the bum one day.

Think about it the 1080 ti was deemed the fastest card for gamers, but before buyers can even get their pre-ordered aftermarket cards it get's knocked of it's perch
and you can safely bet that all the people who must have the latest and greatest card are already looking at the 1080ti FE in their rigs with disappointment that it's reign at the top was so short.
Only the most deluded user would be unable to see how underhanded the handling of the whole 10 series has been and there's a reason why it's been like that. Lack of competition.
Nvidia have ruthlessly taken every advantage possible because they've been the only one in the high end for over a year now..

Stopped reading right there because that is just nonsense. Nvidia sell gra[hics cards to consumers, no oen if forced to buy them. Nvidia is giving the best performing products they can

Thats absolutely a lie DP and if you think about it you know im right. nvidia had the full titan core available back when they released the first titan xp but instead went with a cut down version. Therefor nvidia is not giving the best performing products they can considering Titan X little p could have been released back then if they so had desired. Its not like this is the first time they done this either. However morally corrupt i find nvidia I understand however that this is one way to make more money which in the end its all about. The only one to blame would be the users buying overpriced GPUs to begin with.

Good to know. And to be honest the sort of response I'd of expected from someone with the 'my way or the highway attitude' that hasn't got an answer for the points made, It highlights why I was right to not bother replying to your response in the Zen thread yesterday where you basically ignored the points I made in my first response.

Titan yields were low, very low for full chip. Takes time to stock pile the goods ones and time to refine the process to get more.
Needed the titan out to cash in on early adopters that's want performance now instead of cost cut Ti 6+ months later.
I guess by the time Ti was seriously on the roadmap, stock pile hit enough to send out full cores, or refined enough to disable Ti cores to move to Titan cards

it all comes down to AMD, if AMD sticks to the 470mm² Vega, then no new Nvdia GPU's untill the end of the year or early 2018.
if AMD made a 600mm² Vega, you might see a new Nvidia flag chip as soon as this summer, and it's name depands on the price of the AMD's 600mm² chip, if AMD charge over a thousand dollars, the next nvidia flagship will be a Titan, if it's sub 900$ it will be 2080Ti.
but chances of this happening is slime, AMD wont push for 600mm² right now.

According to Gibbo who's at AMD Rome event, he is "very impressed" with the Vega.

So would seem NV tries to pull a fast one here, before the stock remains unsold or having to get rid of it at heavy discounts......

What utetr rubbish. If Nvidia had a fully working dies at acceptable yields they would have released it as such.

Nvidia were on the cutting edge of the very new 16FF+ process with such a big die, so much so that the rabid AMD fanboys were going on about how Nvidia would be 6 months behind AMD in releasing Pascal.

Where do people get these wild conspiracy ideas form?

gibbo can be impressed by a lot of stuff, like koduri's new Mustache...doesn't mean vega have a 600mm² variant.
