Any New Windows Phones?

Been using the OS for a few years ago but will be dropping it as soon as the new Nokia's come out. Pity as I really like it but it is dead in the water as an OS. Not looking forwards to Android but it my only choice due to my strange aversion to anything Apple.

I would try android to be honest if it had decent hardware support for desktop

Or you thinkin bowt when plugging it into a desktop? I love the fact android is plug-in, drag n drop unlike the two other major platforms (ios + wp10)

I really feel as if Microsoft were on to something with the 'conitinuum' platform - phones are becoming powerful enough these days to replace the average desktop and in the enterprise market it would have done well (what with the move to cloud for everything these days) - no need for laptop/phone - just one smartphone, flexible working areas (docking stations etc) - missed opportunity I feel.

Only just got my 950XL for work testing and can't believe WP is dying off

I heard somewhere that Microsoft are just looking at dropping their own manufacture of the phyiscal phones and will promote other manufacturers to use their OS. Apparently a version of the Samsung S8 is due soon with windows phone. Could just be rumours tho.

yeah but windows itself is limited. you can't customise it even half the way you can on android, and that's what people expect. You can customise buttons on android - you can't even change icons on windows phone. That's about as basic as you can get.

Thats like saying " you get stuck having to press an Icon on Android"
You can change it to it looks like regular non info icons.

No, with android icons you can use transparency and have anything showing or nothing showing. With Windows, you will always have at leasts a square / rectangle tile. You can't have transparent with just icon. Animated or not.

Thats the background color, you just turn the transparency all the way down, select what ever custom pack you want.

Granted android is more customisable which is why i have one as my personal phone.

When it comes to work though i much rather prefer the simplicity of the windows phone OS. I dont have time nor want to mess with my work phone so works out great.

For work purposes wp is great, highly compatible with standard certificates etc. Fully managed through exchange profiles.

Android however is a lot more difficult for work. For management we have to use 3rd party mdm oh and certificates have to be a certain format etc.
