Awful, just awful. At least the guy who did it is dead, but that isn't going to bring back the poor policeman who died. Dread to think what his family is going though.

While im glad the gun man paid for with his life it is the easy way out, i think id have liked to see him rot in a prison for the rest of his life, if indeed he was an extremist then dying for his cause, in his eyes is wonderful. I hate the idea that his last dying thoughts were those of happiness and fulfillment as he drifts off to meet his maker.

I strongly suspect you'll find this is simply a lone wolf radicalised online and not some election related conspiracy planned by ISIS in advance. That doesn't necessarily mean it is not an ISIS attack - frankly any lone wolf attacks carried out in the name of ISIS as a result of being inspired/radicalised by them are still ISIS attacks.

It is the election/conspiracy angle that I find dubious.

They haven't claimed most of the lone wolf attacks, and this one was claimed within a few hours of it happening.

Besides that it does play nicely into ISIS' hands. The election of a devisive leader like her would help them greatly. She would enact draconian policy against Muslims and immigrants, helping to isolate entire groups of society. ISIS would then use that as another "example" of how the battle they are fighting really is one of Islam vs the West* and use the disaffection and isolation caused by her policies as a recruitment tool for their cause.

Even if this wasn't an ISIS attack it does unfortunately play into their hands.

*We already have several on this forum calling it that as well, another example of how ISIS are winning the "hearts and minds" game amongst some of the staunchest nationalists/anti Muslims.

They already think that, im not even sure what france have done do deserve all these attacks anyway. (Not that any country "deserves" them unlike a lot of people I know its the ideology thats the problem, no one group of people gets killed by these cretins more than other muslims) they were against the intervention in Iraq for a start, I can only think of what went on in Mali.

I would imagine that firing a single shot per trigger pull would have a greater accuracy when trying to hit a moving vehicle than going full auto and spraying the thing?

A failure of the prison system to rehabilitate someone, and a subsequent failure of the parole system in releasing someone who was not rehabilitated, do not really justify the reintroduction of capital punishment.

Sounds like a total waste of time. How is an appropriately trained officer supposed to be in the right place at the right time to kill this vehicle weapon using person? It's not like these things are announced in advance so you can get someone lined up. By the time anyone even knows it's happening it's over.

Paris attack: Video showing 'London Muslims celebrating terror attacks' is fake

A Facebook video being widely shared that supposedly shows Muslims in London celebrating in the aftermath of the Paris terror attacks is fake, it has been shown.

The video, entitled “Muslims Around The World Celebrate The Islamic Victory In Paris France”, claims to show a large group of Muslim men cheering and waving Pakistani flags outside Tooting Broadway station in south London, following Isis’ statement claiming responsibility for the attacks.
The voice of a newsreader can be heard over the cheering, describing scenes of Friday's violence in which 129 people were killed in a wave of attacks.

It has since been revealed that the footage actually shows British Pakistanis celebrating a cricket victory during the 20/20 games in 2009.
The video, which appears to have originated from a personal Facebook account around 14 November, has been shared by a series of far-right blogs and websites, generating 458,000 views in a matter of hours.

It has since been removed from both Facebook and YouTube.

A further image, showing a Muslim man standing on a French flag with his fist raised in the air has also been circulated across social media over the past few days.

This has also been confirmed as fake, with a Google search revealing the image is two years old and bears no relation to the Paris attacks.
