**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ Thread ****

Thanks for the update. Is that after the unlock code has been entered? If so, the info I was given yesterday in the Webchat was incorrect.
Yeh mate although I did update phone before putting in sim and unlock code - don't think that will change anything though, if it did 'fully change' device then it should have gotten the 2nd bigger update no?

I will do a factory reset on it and see if it updates to the newest update now that's unlocked.

That's what I would have done. My phone hasn't been delivered yet - apparently the van broke down! I'm seriously thinking of refusing to accept delivery so it gets returned at their expense. Overall, Chitter Chatter have been a pain. They couldn't fulfill their promise of delivering on the 21st which resulted in me missing the trade in value of £320 on my S7 Edge. Now, it appears we are being sent EE phones, converted to be unlocked.

I've done a factory reset and will setup again over the next 10min or so and let you know if it gets update to newest one. Otherwise it looks like it's dependant on EE updates which is a bummer.

Many thanks. I definitely don't want to be dependent on EE. Will look forward to the update.
Just finished factory reset and setup - it's still same EE handset, automatically installs 2 EE apps and it's same CSC and AP/CP as posted earlier. Didn't prompt for the latest update either.
I chatter with chitterchatter and they will e-mail me return label by end of today and will refund within few days of receiving it so at least they're not making a hassle out of it and are paying for sending it back!

Will stick to my CPW one I suppose as well, £60 more expensive but get the speaker which comes in handy so no end of the world and quicker system updates always help.

Thank you for the update. A pity overall - I'll cancel my delivery as the phone is not sitting back at the distribution depot. How frustrating!
Apparently they got plenty at CPW as someone said earlier so might pick up one tonight still or tomorrow !

On another note, damn the orchid grey looks great !

I notice a number of tweaks to Nougat on the S8 vs the S7 that Samsung could easily have put in the S7 but didn't. Things like being able to map the volume buttons to control media volume only as opposed to ringtone volume by default. Sneaky buggers.

Iris scanning is WAY better than fingerprint scanning. For one, you simply just aim it at your face and the phone unlocks before you can even blink or see the lockscreen fully.

Had a 20 min play with my S8+ earlier, haven't made my mind up on it yet. I've not put my sim in or set it up properly yet but will do later this evening or tomorrow. Didnt notice any red tint on the screen.

Fingerprint was taking several attempts to register just to unlock the damn thing, I had to keep turning the phone around to see where I was pressing. For the brief moment I used it, very annoying I have to say. Just totally underwhelmed by at it atm coming from an s7e.

OK I'm confused now.

Loaded up both and set up via Wi-Fi in same way, without SIM card.
both started with the same firmware, G950FXXU1AQC9.

Neither has red tint, however, the chitter chatter (CC) one (EE apparently) has marginally darker screen, not exactly red but I'd say it's like changing brightness by about 3-4% (both are on max brightness and same settings).

Now that one already wants to update to AQDD update (286.58MB) - it doesn't say whether it's XEU, BTU or EV - it's just not mentioned.

The CPW one does say it's XEU and wants to update straight to AQDG (665.74MB).

-_- Guess I'll update both and go from there see if they both get to same status.

Why would you use both if one is going back?

Weird issue with the led. Got my phone replaced today as the led stopped working. Got it all setup with no issues with the led but it has stopped working again after charging. Surely can't be a second led failing and more like software. But for the life of me can't suss it. The led switch is on
