*** Nintendo Switch ***

Keep being tempted by the switch, but think I will hold out until Christmas.

The wife also mentioned yesterday that she was interested in getting one as she loves bomberman and mario kart. Not sure if she meant her own one or a 'family' switch.

I picked up Puyo Puyo Tetris, really impressed, lot of modes to keep you busy.

I'm okay at Tetris but find Puyo Puyo quite tough, much harder to plan ahead for the chains which are an absolute must.

3 or 4 player even with the CPU is manic, looking forward to some local multiplayer.

I have always been pretty decent at Tetris, i can play fast and build combos but Puyo Puyo.......... man its kills me, i just cant get the hang of it, ive had a few battles online and those japanese kids that has it mastered kill you in seconds!

Seriously bad service from Nintendo, I pre ordered MK8 Deluxe and as it hadn't been despatched by Saturday I contacted them to cancel it and ordered from elsewhere. Had email confirmation the order had been cancelled, and even spoke to someone on live chat who confirmed it had been cancelled.

Lo and behold what happens today? I get a despatch note for MK8 Deluxe.

A) How has it ever been despatched considering it had been cancelled
B) Forget the cancelation how on earth was it not despatched by Saturday, considering the game was released Friday?

Really **** poor from them, i'll never order physical items from them again.

I ordered a switch on its actual release day from Nintendo at about 3pm. Came the next day (Saturday) at noon. Must be hit and miss. Their Saturday delivery is good clearly.

only ever got a nes classic from the offical store and it came with no problems

i am loving the switch, i really hope we get announcements for the classic titles soon, a new Kirby, F-Zero, Metroid & Donkey Kong would be just perfect

After cancelling my pre order I've finally succumbed to temptation and ordered one on prime now and it should be here before 10. I've bought Mario kart for me and 1 2 switch for me and my daughter to play :)

Don't plan on trying online for a while, know I'll get battered immediately.

I went for a digital version after cancelling physical from Amazon, just one of those games that's always handy to have installed for a quick blast, if I have to sod about looking for the cart I'll be less likely to play it.

Welcome to the club, Mario Kart is awesome, I had it on the Wii U but don't regret picking it up, will be great to play with family.

1-2 Switch is pretty bare bones as a game, my daughter is 3 and doesn't really get most of the games but does love playing the sandwich eating one, although she seems to like watching others look like muppets more than anything.

She actually did okay at Mario Kart as the steering assist is pretty good at keeping her on the track so mostly just needed to accelerate. Am slowly introducing the weapons to her. :)

Had a go on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the first time.

First 5mins I was like... meh... same as the Wii...

But then I had to do a double take... and remind myself... I'm playing this thing on a tablet like device...

And then I tried the online mode....

Suffice to say, the grin and laugh I made after a couple of games of online play... I haven't smiled or laughed like that about playing a game since... well Zelda BOTW (but before that.... it was many many years :))

Is there an online OCUK group?

My daughter is 9 and she's been pestering me to get one and 1 2 switch... So I backed down :p I'm hoping she'll like Mario kart as well and I can kick her butt at it :D

This has been the key for me so far. I've been playing almost exclusively in portable mode, and while yes we've had DS and 3DS in the past, this thing is huge and premium in ways they never were. Screen looks lovely, it doesn't creak (too much) when you pick it up and I'm a bit smitten.

Only played Mario Kart twice and that was only for 2 online races. Gone straight back to Puyo Tetris, haven't touched the single player on that either.

Maybe there is something wrong with me :D

Hope it stays that way. We don't want another original Wii situation.

Looks like it so far though, Nintendo seem more interested in selling their 6 year old ancient handheld hardware that already has a ton of games, than this new piece of exciting hardware that needs all the support it can get right now.

Oh, I thought you meant WiiU. I don't think the Switch will ever end up like the Wii, that time has passed. The casuals have moved on to smartphone games and other stuff.

Soooo when do people think Switch total hardware sales will surpass WiiU total hardware sales????

I'm going to go with 2nd Quarter of 2018.

13 millionish is still a task but we know there's been 2.74million sold at the very least and the holiday season with Mario could provide another timely boost.

Provided Nintendo can maintain a release schedule packed of great titles and the supply chain doesn't mess up I'm pretty sure they can get to that number quickly.

On another note loved just playing Mario Kart 8 on the train this morning, great for grinding out those coins for vehicle parts :)

I've decided I'll leave finishing Zelda until my 10hour Vegas flight in 3 weeks time as I know I can happily play that for a loooooooong time.

I was really sceptical about MK8 as I own it on the Wii U, but there are enough extras and changes to sell it to me. The kids have played it to death and we've had loads of 4 player games using just the joy cons and wrist straps. I was playing it in bed last night in portable mode, which is really how the Switch begins to shine.

My only moan has been the motion, auto-steer and accelerate turn on way too easily, if you catch a button when selecting a kart.

Same here, I am also off to Vegas in 3 weeks. First time I will be taking the Switch out the house. So this will be the real test for battery life.

Also purchased the Snipperclips Joy-Con bundle and 2 Pro Controllers. Wont be short on local multiplayer for MK8D. :)

Battery life wise for Zelda I've been around the 3 hour mark so definitely appears to be accurate.

Make sure you invest in a decent external power brick for that loooooooong flight! I'm guessing you're flying direct?

I'm convinced Zelda will see me through it fairly easily.
