From what I read there not doing a big presentation they didn't last year iirc. They will be there but in a small capacity
Sounds terrible on a Nintendo front. They've had the worst E3s for the past few years. Surely they must have something decent this year, especially with a new console out. If they play their cards right and announce a ton of great games for the Switch, then all will be well. But judging by rumours of SNES Classics, continuation of low Switch stock and the re-release of 6 year old hardware (new 2DS XL), it looks like Nintendo have learnt jack all and it's potentially going to be as disappointing as previous years. Again, this mainly impacts the Switch, Nintendo's lack of confidence and push with the Switch, makes it feel like the WiiU situation all over again. How can 3rd party support hardware that isn't even supported by 1st party? They need to go all out and show that they mean business with the Switch, by announcing a ton of major games on it. The likes of Pokemon, Monster Hunter, Smash Bros and especially Metroid.
Microsoft has big plans this year with Scorpio. Part of me hopes they unveil some pricing for the Scorpio, so we know how much that beast of a console will cost. My bets are around £500, given the XB1/PS4 launch prices. But more importantly, Microsoft need games that will drive people to Scorpio. They've done good in the past few years with things like backwards compatibility and Xbox Play anywhere, but they need to keep it going. With almost every major XB1 title launching on PC too, they really need to pull something out of the bag to help drive sales of their new hardware, since they no longer have the exclusives to drive hardware sales. XB1S did well with its 4k Blu-ray player and amazing pricing, but I don't think the same things will help Scorpio. The new Crackdown game is also still not launched and Microsoft also need to make up for killing off Scalebound. If I buy a Scorpio within the next couple of years, then Microsoft will be doing it right. But every time I consider buying an Xbox, I tell myself there's no point since I have PC/PS4/XB360 already anyway.
Things seem to be simmering down on the Sony front. No new hardware reveals, as much as I'd like a modern PSP (and some damn competition for Nintendo's overpriced nonsense). The only thing that comes to my head is TLoU 2 and some may know that I really have no interest in that franchise. Though there is God of War as well, perhaps they will also reveal more games (I've also got no interest in Day's Gone) this year. I'm happy with what I currently have on my PS4, playing through Bloodborne and will start Uncharted 4 if I ever remember to get around to it. But others may have already finished those games. Some say Bloodborne 2. I say 60fps or go PC, that sort of gameplay feels offputting for some at 30fps and I know many have written Bloodborne off just due to framerate. 30fps really doesn't suit that style of gameplay. PSPlus has stagnated a bit now too, it doesn't quite compare to XBL Gold and I say that as a PSPlus subscriber. They need to up their game on that. Maybe they'll start offering something like TV shows or movies or something too?
And most of all... PC. especially with Microsoft now putting games on Steam, I'm wondering if they'll do more like it. Halo 3 on PC was only the stuff of dreams a few years ago, but now it may be possible if Microsoft are willing to put older/not-well-selling games on Steam. Maybe they'll realise their mistake with Win10 store and start putting newer games on Steam too. AMD are always a big thing at E3 and they'll probably show off their new GPUs. Fingers crossed they give us something for proper 4k on PC, something as capable as a 1080ti (though it looks like 1080 at least). I also look forward to more PC exclusives, though recent releases like Dawn of War 3 have not been too great.
