Some reckon if it's a Royal death, protocol is the BBC announces it at 8am though I don't see any sources backing that up.

Others think that one foreign news site picked it up and the whole world is just regurgitating it and panicking. Like reporting the flag flying at Buckingham Palace isn't the Union Jack (duh).

Still, the radio silence in the British media is odd.
