Paypal ripping me off ! please advise

I have sold 5 products over EBAY the past week all Digital CD-Keys to 5 different customers with rating all over 25

The customer have all paid me right away with PAYPAL

Guess what ? over the space of a week I have had Emails from Ebay & paypal saying these accounts have been hacked and they will be refunding the customer ! WTF

My Paypal account is now Negitive £90 ! How is this even legal ?

I have done my part and supplied the customers with the CD-Keys over Ebay Email service.

What can I do about this because this is Neglect on Ebay & Paypals part not mine ! someone shouldnt be able to buy on Ebay and then access someones paypal account so easily and the seller shouldn't suffer for it .

I have advised them I will not be paying this fee because as a Seller I have done everything correctly.

What are they keys in question? A lot of keys you're not meant to be selling so you'll be **** out of luck.

Because I have not posted the Product directly and don't have tracking apparently this voids my claim. Total BS

This is my point ! they are not taken any responsibly at all - Paypal shouldn't be letting people pay people instantly so so easy.

I fell victim to this scam after selling a code for The Division which came with my previous GPU. I had already sold one successfully with no repercussions, however the second sale resulted in the buyer claiming the payment was unauthorised. Obviously the buyer had used the code, but wanted his money back nonetheless. He got it, and I had to pay fees too!

You can get the £90 back but you'll need to take them to the small claims court. You'll get nowhere with their CS.

Just go to the Financial Ombudsman, unless things have changed in the past few years, you'll win.

Never sell CD Keys on Ebay unless you willing to post them. People will scam you for this reason and get away with it.

Even if they receive it, they could just say the code is invalid or already claimed and you're buggered. You can't prove otherwise.

How are Paypal ripping you off? if they refund the buyers they aren't actually profiting, I would say it's the buyers who are ripping you off.

Like every other Ebay/Paypal thread on these forums 99.9% of people say they side with the buyer so with that I have never used either and don't intend to.

I wouldn't pay Paypal back, just abandon the account and create a new one.

Bad idea, Paypal will chase him for the money, it'll start with debt collectors, move to a CCJ and ruin his credit rating and eventually, one way or another he'll have to pay it.

I've seen multiple posts recommending to just close an account... TERRIBLE ADVICE.

PayPal will chase you for any amount.

I did exactly this about 7 years ago .Paypal refunded the buyer £250 leaving me with a negative balance and i refused to pay it as i had been ripped off . They phoned me for months afterwards with threats of debt collectors etc etc but after about 6 months they stoped and i never heard from them again .

Debt collectors who have no power and you'll only get a CCJ if they take you court (very unlikely) and they win (even more unlikely unless you don't turn up).

If it does actually get to that point, you just pay the money within 30 days and you can have the CCJ removed from your credit record.

You haven't entered into a credit agreement with PayPal, so they can't do anything to your credit record without taking you to court (as above).

The fact that they chase you and try to intimidate you into paying doesn't mean they actually have any legal backing to do so...

They've made the decision to pay people money for an arbitrary reason, what makes you responsible for reimbursing them for that decision?
