Unpaid work is not uncommon. Many will happily do an unpaid internship or voluntary work to serve the community. Is this not akin to that except serving the wider community with a more staple and possibly lower priced food supply? Also I did address your other point via the perpetually unemployed.

Wow starting to sound like a socialist uptopia with the "workers" doing their bit for the country.,..................

Unpaid work isnt uncommon and I have done it myself but there is a huge difference between voluntary work and internship compared to been forced to do hard manual unskilled work for free for 6 months of a year.

And going back on the unemployed that they dont live in the areas where we need the seasonal workers so again I ask are you going to bus them every day or force them to move?

We do have cards. And plenty of things the EU needs. The EU has been a lot more prosperous with us than it will be without us. And it stands to lose out considerably if no agreement is reached. Both sides stand to lose.

That's the scary bit; the idea that negotiations could go so badly that both sides would sooner suffer than maintain a good working relationship.

No, we don't - your just believing propoganda - 27 countries will get on just fine without us.

BWhahahahahahahaha! *breaths in* BWhahahahahahahaa

The UN is such a waste of space these days :D

This is what's alarming about the way the UK is going, we have people who respond to such a serious situation with idiotic pathetic comments like that - its what is allowing the tories to get away with it - that mentallity is what let hitler come to power - no really, it is.

Just because your ok pal doesn't mean everyone else is.

The article provides links to the UN's website.

At least half of those countries are far far away from doing "fine"

You appear to be a complete follower of mainstream propoganda anyway, you get your info from BBC/main stream news no doubt - especially given your previous comment laughing at gross human rights violoations in your own country.

ALL of the 27 remaining EU countries are doing wonderfully, even the less well off ones - Poland is seeing massive growth with wages increasing more rapidly than ever.

Additionally to become an EU member you have to pass a minimum level of requirements - so no, they are doing just fine.

I've set myself a 5-7 year target to save as much money as possible now to emigrate and leave the UK - were done for as a nation if torys come in, just now no one can see this, wants to see this, and wants their head to stay in the sand - driven by national pride.

Facts are facts, the UK is going to tumble - of course people will carry on, eat food and sleep in houses (not all of us, just the lucky ones)

But I want to live in a nation that takes pride in human rights, is forward thinking, taxes high, provides care for all (poor and rich) & facilities for all - places like Denmark for example have got ideas of what it is to be human down pretty well.

I'm embarrased to be from this country when so many of my nation are utterly ignorant, have zero clue, and quite frankly are stupid (there is no other word for it - voting a tory gov in is the most stupid thing to do by all accounts) - what's even worse is, a lot of these voting the torys in are not well off or average middle class - yet still vote them in - there is no reasoning with these people - those of us who can see what's really happening can show them facts, let them continue to harm themselves and hope for the best.

IF the torys stay in power then despite every effort to help those who struggle more with facts logic and reality......still vote to harm themselves - then i'll try my very best to go somewhere with more sane minded populations.

The only person who could vote tory with a sane and clear mind is a very very rich person - the 1% who would benefit from it.

They really aren't lol. Ignoring all the problems Greece is having, Poland has also been struggling for years.

If they were, there would be more than only 8 countries putting money in to the EU (soon to be 7).

They're doing better than they would without EU.

Well of course, they're getting free cash!

Yeah but that's the point, the "union" stronger players help the weaker. I wonder how Poland, Lithuania etc would do without EU. It's difficult to compare but I believe they'd be worse off not just financially but security wise too.

UK is a strong nation but leaving EU will hit us "normals" hard no matter what deal they agree on.

Exactly. Britain, Germany, France and Italy are basically paying to keep them going. As well as ourselves. Just us and Germany pay in more than all the other members combined.

Being in a club where everyone pays in is fine. But not fine when only a handful are doing all the paying. Then the ones doing the taking try to dictate terms to us. If you went to a bank and demanded cash that isn't yours and nothing in return, it would be robbery.

people need to stop doing this. People having an opinion is not the same in any way to how hitler came to power. Just because you dont agree with something someone said doesn't imply a 'hitler like attitude'

its a gross misrepresentation of a horrific past. You are sullying the past with the ego of today

I'm emigrating next year (cus lol Britain nah) and I don't know whether I should vote as a result... I mean, it's not my personal next 5 years is it? Then again, I feel I should vote purely from a moral standpoint regardless...

Don't waste your vote, you think how many OAP vote and pop their clogs within 12 months.

This can be applied to our own country though. All the high-earners in London and the South East pay in lots and lots of income tax to pay for infrastructure and services in areas such as the Lake District and
Cornwall. It just depends on your frame of reference and the size of the picture you are looking at. In a non-uniform society there always has to be givers and takers.
