I think I may have 2nd degree Sun-burn

to be honest, not sure how true this is, but I read this morning just getting sun burnt 5 times in your life can double the chance of skin cancer. Pretty insane really.

i wouldn't be surprised if its an even higher chance - thats a lot of dna damage there.

Yowsers!; I still got all me greying scratchers but even I indulge in the old Gilligan's Island attire when the spriter is out.

I try to be careful but I must admit I have been caught out by the UV levels twice recently. I shave my head with a guardless trimmer, otherwise I have I look like a cross between Capt. Picard and a badger.

I spent eight hours (who knew that was possible) in the garden a couple of sundays ago when it was cool and over cast. Lost track of time washing the van and tidying the my tool store up. My head and the back of my neck was glowing a shade of red only seen on thermal imaging. Took a week to stop stinging to the touch.

Yesterday I spent just two hours in the front garden cutting some shrubbage and weeding. Not as bad but still red as anything. I usually slap on SPF50, so not sure why I failed this time. I also look terrible in any hat :(.

Ouch that does look painful. I burnt my back and shoulder so badly on holiday in my 20's that I was covered in blisters and was shivering badly. About 10 years later I was covered in moles and ever since have had to keep an eye on them.

Keep it moisturised. Mustard also helps take the sting out of it.

We can laugh but skin cancer ain't funny. It amazes me the amount of people walking around like boiled lobsters after a bit of sun...
Take more care in future OP.

This, its daft.

I have vitiligo so wear suncream all year around, I have to cover my entire face and head - I have some hair though so use hair/scalp spray factor 30.

If anyone want's any sun cream advice let me know as I use it daily

The redness has gone down a little, however fluid is still oozing out, google says this is normal for 2nd degree sun burn, and can do this for up to 2-3 weeks. As my head wasn't THAT badly burnt I think it will ease off within a few days, infact it's already slowed down lots compared to yesterday.

This is how it looks now
