Outraged about outrage

Apparently this is an incredibly harmful phrase to use, and some woman on facebook, a Debbie Dee has sent off complaints to Asda about it (along with loads of her friends).

She's provided links to some feminist blog and some guardian article about why it's so harmful and it promotes rape or some BS... but really, on a child's jumper? Context, surely?

Boys will be boys when it comes to climbing, falling over, scraping their elbows playing etc. That's what it means to me, certainly when it comes to my twin boy toddlers. Boys will be boys.
 
"Boys will be boys" has always just been a phrase to me meaning "boys will do stupid things." I think this person is just doing her bit to show that women can be stupid too.
 
I think all right thinking people in this country are sick and tired of being told that ordinary, decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I'm certainly not, and I'm sick and tired of being told that I am.

While I'm sick and tired of you not being bothered by others not being sick and tired? :p It does always make me laugh at people who get outraged and offended about people being overly outraged and offended.
 
As a non-binary, gender fluid overclock-kin, with xer and xhey pronouns, who feels especially effeminate today, this top absolutely disgusts me.

How dare people attempt to class children into binary sexes instead of letting xhem make up xheir own minds, "boys will be boys" can seem harmless at a first glance, but xhey may just feel pressured to wearing such CIS influenced propaganda by their white CIS parents instead of finding xheir true gender. White privileged CIS males on this forum won't understand the disgusting pressure they put on kids to conform to the binary genders set up by the patriarchy.

So let me get this straight - this is another one of those threads where people onplain about a news article about someone complaining?

Let's take a single letter and a few blogs complaining about something, spread it around and then complain that the world is going mad, ask why this is even news and complain that everyone (else) is losing the plot? :p

If it was ignored it would go away, unfortunately its not ignored, even if ASDA ignore it, the "*********" will be validated by the fact that we are upset by their complaint, which will spread and encourage other attention seekers to do the same.

LOL at outrage over some words rather than the fact that they're selling them for 4 quid because child labour. If you're going to get offended then at least try and get your angle right.
