*** Nintendo Switch ***

To my knowledge yes, at least my BC games have 2GB of available cloud storage.

PS4 certainly does.

I don't really understand why the purchase gets linked to the console as well as the account. If the account purchases something it should be available to that account on whatever console it is logged into. This is what the other consoles do (and have done for quite some time).

Perhaps the necessary network logic (not sure of the right term tbh) is not there on Nintendo's side?

Its simply to stop people buying games and downloading on multiple consoles and using it offline, as a portable system its unrealistic to force it to be online at all times.
E.g Xbox one you can have your home console play any games you won then you can also have your profile play any games you own anywhere but you need to login online to allow it.
Since the switch isnt designed to be online all the time this kinda of system wouldnt work.
You can switch which system you are linked to if you need to but without cloud saving and such it would lose your saves.
I do wish there was a better system to handle this though as I would like to have another switch in our household but dont want to have to rebuy digital games or be forced to split games over several accounts.

From Twitter.

Apparently the Samsung tv fix is coming shortly (changes channel by itself) finally!

Animal crossing!! I would destroy that on Switch! Multiple saves please as my partner sunk 250hours in to the 3ds version, mentalist

I think everything will have multiple saves by default as you just login with your own account.

That's a shame, I think it has great potential. Splatoon looks really good though, you might enjoy it. Yeah, it's a shame about the games. Mario should have been a launch title.

Have to admit, I do not really see the appeal of Mario. Last time I really enjoyed it was probably Mario 3 on NES and the SNES Mario. I was young enough to love its charm. Mario 64 was an impressive game, but I do not know if it was the move to 3D or the age I was by the time it came out, but I just found it painfully obvious that the game was so simplistic. Whether you are 1 hour in or 50 hours in, it's the same.

I think that is a big part of why the new Zelda was such a big deal...after playing so many, even it was starting to suffer a bit from the fact that limited progression really occurred throughout the games, the new open world style, lots of differing weapons and power, shields, armor and upgrades, stamina increases in addition to the standard heart gains all makes it feel like the ridiculous hours you put into the game actually do something.

To me Zelda was the right launch title - a big game, with significant improvements to the typical style...a world of discovery, progression and adventure to really sink your teeth in to. Had Mario been the launch title, I doubt would have the Switch yet (even though I primarily wanted it for the local multiplayer, I needed something to sink my teeth into for the many times I do not have a bunch of friends round) because about an hour in I likely would have put it to rest.

Woh, that's fighting talk! I struggle to think of another game that has done as much for this hobby or has been designed as well.

Glad to see Disgea 5 is only £39.99 from SG! Love that series and really enjoy the grind in it despite not being so big on it in most JRPG's. Anyone else picked it up today?

That doesn't help if your console breaks.
This is true. CS can get it delinked without too much trouble in that case though.

They could offer a method to delink via their accounts web page to make it easier, but at least it's more secure the way it is now.

They better, no cloud saves is a disgrace in modern consoles.

Yeah if the full online service doesn't have this it'll be disappointing for sure. We know Facebook friend integration is coming (and username friend invites), but getting together and playing with friends online also needs to be much easier and more social.

I'm not really a fan of having to pay to play online in general personally, and I don''t even feel it's the best direction for Nintendo to take in the long term. The service will at least be much cheaper compared to other consoles I guess.
