Proto Gt can be difficult to get official races. If you don't do SOF tonight then tomorrow night and maybe Friday night you have may a chance of getting one. Outside that it's just a case of having a look every now and again. Le Mans coming up soon should help with participation though.

Doubt I will be able to do it. Or at least my fair share. I'll be busy with my mom's 70th on the evening of the 10th. Which may mean I won't be much good for anything on the 11th either.

I did a total of 13 Skippy races over the last week with mixed results. I'd say roughly half the races I took part in resulted in someone taking me out, one way or another.

But I did end the week with a positive gain in iRating (+74) but SR loss of over 1.3.

I also managed two pole positions, one of which was in the top split but a lowish SoF of 2700. Either way it was a bit of a surprise, as my one lap pace has never been particularly quick.

See what Oulton Park brings over the next week.

Ive been back into this lately and bought the Skippys.. Really enjoying it! Glad I bought Skippys as otherwise I'd of been done with iRacing.. MX5 Cup is shocking!

The Skippy can be just as bad sometimes. A lot depends on the track. If it's a track with a couple of genuine overtaking spots then it's usually ok. But if it's like Watkins Glen last week where you have you rely more on cooperation if other drivers not to be idiots, it can get messy.

I imagine the Oulton Park lay out this week could be similar as there's only one real chance to pass per lap.

Finally in week 11 in proto gt somebody crashed into me, races have been clean before that. The guy did apologise just after and sent me a message afterwards. He missed his braking point went into the back of me knocking me off and down into 8th. I fought back for the win though so it was all good in the end. Despite being in the bottom split of two, everyone was very courteous and got out your way pretty quickly. With one race to go I've been impressed with the driving standard of proto gt this season and will be running it again next. It's just a shame that you can struggle to get an official race most of the time but I suppose the small number of regulars help keep it a clean race.

With the Ferarri and ford incoming those proto GT races won't be as polite. All those numpty's driving the Porsche right now will be driving the next latest thing

They are going into the IMSA, proto GT will stay the same. 24 hour of Le Mans could be carnage though now as people would only have had a week to practice with them.

I right I read that wrong oh well will just have to stay away from IMSA, at least now I will be able do a Porsche race and not get punted off

What's the deal with selling iRacing accounts ? I've got more or less 100% road content plus a little bit of oval content but haven't used the sim in quite a long time. If anyone is looking for cheap entry into the sim with a ton of content let me know.

NVM, just realised you're not really allowed to sell them

Definitely against the T&Cs and if your caught the account will be banned. Probably goes on though, just a lot of money's worth to risk.

I bought the Ferrari. I've only driven it around Le Mans for a few laps during week 13. Had some PC issues, but I think I've sorted them now.

From what I drove I do like it. Not sure I'll race it though.

Might get a 12 month sub now. That discount helps offset the VAT and last year's price rise.

I actually raced the Ferrari on Sunday.

I'd done a bit of practice before hand and felt comfortable with the car. But I wasn't sure I'd be up to driving for the best part of an hour and a half with qualifying and a 75 minute race.

I started 25th and was running as high as 10th, but after my pit stop I dropped to 15th. Up until the last lap I hadn't had a single incident, but some yahoo decide to dive bomb me into the bus stop chicane. Even though I gave room, he was so out of control that the back end of his car oversteered across the front of my car, taking us both out.

Apart from that I had an enjoyable race and might well stick with it for a few more races.
