My attitude is that all police officers should be given a firearm after a few years service. There's no need for everyone to have a gun, but we need to increase the number with guns.
Again, to repeat what I said in another thread it's just not that simplistic :-
"At the end of the day it's a balancing act, you can't just say reducing tax rates increases the tax take. Let's take that to the ludicrous end conclusion and just have 0%, bumper receipts no? Or how about 0.1%?
There is obviously points where the rate can be set too high, and business do anything to avoid paying it, legally and illegally and conversely where rates are too low that any further reduction is not any further stimulus to business to try and avoid it.
It's also not a single point, but a range, and where Corp Tax rates are around the 20-30% mark I don't see as a big issue"
If that officer who challenged them straight away had a gun, lives would have been saved. I think Police in certain areas should be armed. All Police in central London should be.
I'm sure everyone will disagree with this, but maybe we should also have a new tier of trained door supervisors who are permitted to carry a stunning device and again, pubs and bars in certain areas should be required to use at least one on certain nights, mainly fri, sat, sun.
No one even knows what the optimum point is - it's all broad theory. The problem is that Socialist governments policies almost always set the higher tax rates above the optimum point. Sometimes well above it (As in the 1970's)
To Socialists, Taxation at the higher rates is more about hurting those who they perceive as being their enemies rather than a tool for optimising economic performance and revenue collection.
This is where it all always goes wrong :/
Less lethal. There are non lethal ways of using guns tbh. Like rubber bullets or, shotgun/beanbag combo.
Tasers just aren't enough quite frankly.
Indeed.Less lethal.
