He's popular amongst people who already vote Tory.

He wouldn't make a good leader. He's too gaff prone.

Think about this. London is the most left leaning, cosmopolitanism, multicultural cites on the planet....and he was voted mayor twice in a row. He's far more popular outside of Tory voters than you might imagine.
 
Judging from what I'm hearing on LBC the Tories have COMPLETELY lost the support of the small c conservatives. And too right, the manifesto was some kind of dusty throw back to the 1950's.
 
She's doing the right thing, creating a soap opera that focuses peoples attention, keeps people thinking and awake and somewhat unifies things.
